The thing is, I figured Vince Russo would've done more damage to the WCW brand by this point, but he's only played a minimal role so far since he was only involved for a few months a while back. Doesn't mean he doesn't really F things up later, but I seem to recall WCW's downfall being more because of him at first than I remember.
Russo didn't really kill WCW, he did however probably hasten its demise. What really killed WCW was the AOL/Time Warner merger. The new company had no interest in "wrasslin" and pulled all funding for the show. Even then Bischoff allegedly got a group together to fund the thing but AOL also pulled the TV time spot. Without TV WCW had no value and that was that. Russo was just a shitty booker which didn't help matters.

Why didn't the Yapapi Indian Strap Match, have a transforming Hulk Hogan and different straps? WCW promoted this to be a bloodbath like a Great Muta match. The fans must have feeled ripped off like Starcade 97 or Fingerpoke of Doom.
