HELL YES!!! Alter Man is incredibly rad and we get to see this powerful version of him fuse with some crazy black hole thingy and now he’s a freakin’ kickass diamond dark matter dude - it’s so out of nowhere but so AWESOME!
*FUNNY STORYTIME, AND OF COURSE SPOILER ALERT*: I was doing the True Arena blind, without knowing anything about this boss. When I reach it, I thought "Hey, it's the Mutant Alter Man again". Then I reach the cutscene, and I skip it because I thought it was going to be the same battle, only for this thing jumpscared me out of nowhere. Lesson earned: NEVER SKIP CUTSCENES. As for the battle and music themselves... are a total mess. The Fight is a Nightmare; The Vacant doesn't stop escaping from my attacks. I almost died fighting it, and I spent all my tanks. And the music is the embodiment of "Something went REALLY WRONG". Very good boss fight, but I really hate it xd
I thought that everything on the story would be clear by the end... And then the Vacant Avatar appears out of nowhere, and disappears just as quickly as it appeared! Kind of eerie how Alterman actually warns Megaman that, whatever the Vacant Avatar is. Its still out there somewhere. ...And, what exactly is with the title of the song...? "MY_STORY"...?
Something tells me that the Vacant Avatar only became a thing because of Alter Man's existence (seeing as Alter Man himself is a "vacant avatar" if you will, a basic replica of the true protagonist (at first anyways)). That black void thing, however, is probably similar to the weird Volt Man found at the end of one of MaGMML2's arenas. I mean, it's a really wacky thing that's still incredibly powerful and can morph reality itself (flipping the screen upside down is not a common trait). I'm very clearly grasping for straws here when it comes to that idea, but there's not many other explanations other than the fact that wacky things in this universe turn out to be really overpowered. Editing this to add onto this: Notice how the full title of this song is "MY_STORY(nullpointer)". Null means nothing, so clearly when trying to find this thing's story, it returns nothing. Maybe the whole point is that this thing isn't supposed to make sense or have a story. Still badass though and I'm glad it gave Alter Man more screentime.
@@SonicMaster519 I can agree that it was nice that there was more time to get to know about Alterman. ...Though, I am still kind of disappointed that Alterman is somewhat of an Advertised Extra on MAGMML3. He appears on the promotional cover art for the game, but only appears on 2 of the Arenas. And as an NPC on Tier 15 after completing the True Arena. While I can agree that the Vacant Avatar is a Lovecraftian Horror of sorts. I also got the theory that, maybe it has SOMETHING to do with the Evil Energy. Notice how before the fight starts, drops of Evil Energy start to drop from the ceiling. The same Evil Energy drops that appear on the level where you fight Hexman. AND, The fact that the Vacant Avatar looks at Megaman for a few moments. Ignores him, then looks at Alterman. And uses him as a sort of "Vessel".
@@kuraux56s59 It makes sense why Alter Man is only an extra - he’s just a dude from an older game, but I’m not complaining! I’m glad he’s still there. I didn’t consider the Evil Energy aspect of it, that makes more sense than my idea. It still looks significantly different from actual Evil Energy, though, which is interesting.
@@SonicMaster519 I can agree. And its nice how on the MAGMML continuity. Lore like this is a lot more important than on the main canon, where its usually just on the background. Hhhhmmm... I guess maybe the energy used by the Vacant Avatar could be along the lines of some sort of "Evil Energy 2.0"...? Something similar, yet different to the Evil Energy used by Trio on the events of Megaman 8...? (Also, thanks a lot for this conversation. I like to talk a lot about the MAGMML games and there is not a lot of users I know that have played these fangames.)
@@kuraux56s59 Yeah, I like that too. There’s a basic story that’s easy to follow, but there’s some more complex and interesting parts that require more attention. It’s possible - maybe Nebula Grey’s evil that seems to have faded away might have looked like that? It’s clear that the Evil Robot is just Evil Energy, so maybe Nebula Grey was once some form of Evil Energy as well. You bet, homie! It’s cool talking about stuff that you like with somebody else.
