Yet the culture around guns are very different between the two countries. Easy gun ownership in the United states vs strict in Japan. Yet in America they are much more strict on depictions of guns in kids media than Japan is. Just something I find strange.

And also, it's not just Power Rangers that had to suffer from bad writing and poor direction in some of the episodes of each season, it's like that with every other TV show and movie from time-to-time. Hell, even Super Sentai and Kamen Rider tends to fall into victims of bad writing and terrible directions of their episodes and movies. Yeah, you'll noticed that there were some signs of bad writing and poor direction in other Tokusatsu projects as well.
They could easily change the outlook of the suits if they just show the inside of the helmets more often, show it feeding the rangers info like it's implied and shown in certain seasons, have the rangers mention their power percentages in battles like they did in RPM, give us a reason why the rangers don't use their finishers from the start...... I mean I'm just a fan and I can think of this stuff, It makes me mad how dumbed down Power rangers is when it can easily be really great.

@@estebanrl.2201 Apples and Oranges, honestly. Frankly, direct comparison of those two shows is a waste of time, due to just how much is different between the two.

@@kiwiangeldust6912 Ungrateful? What shoud sentai fans be grateful for? For the fact that the Sentai shows can never air anywhere outside of Japan even if they were insanely popular in many countries way before Haim Saban got his hands on Zyuranger? Well, thank you, Saban.
I kinda like the more ragged detail on the Japanese helmet more. But I can appreciate the sentiment in both scenes. A son is just trying to stand up as his own man, on his own path. This almost makes me want to watch Time Force again.
Super Sentai at that time is like J-Drama with Superheroes. They get wounded, hurt, injured and asses kicked, most even have deaths in them; and not the fade away kind of death, the kind where they get gunned down, stabbed, exploded and mortally wounded. They pull no punches when a Sentai member gets killed, they get mercilessly murdered.
I think this has less to do with objective quality and more with cultural differences. BUT, it's a testament to how amazingly they adapted the show to the US audience, so bonus points!
Japan show's blood even in kid cartoons. Anime? Idk. They make sexual jokes without hiding it in kid cartoons as well. Like they just don't give a fuck.
This one asked a while back. Never had the chance to finish working on it because the sub group didn't get to this point in subbing the series. But finally they did. So this is one that I wanted to upload for a while and the next comparison will be the one that was the most demanded for the longest time. I know Sentai fans will be asking why didn't I continue to show the rest of the Timeranger episode. Well that's for the next comparison so be patient :) Episodes Used: Power Rangers Time Force Episode 12 "Worlds Apart" Mirai Sentai Timeranger Case File 28 "A Time of Reunion"
I actually kind of liked this comparison. This definitely is a primary example that Power Rangers doesn't really have to be like a carbon-copy "note-for-note translation" of the Sentai most of the time, but just a straight-up adaptation of the Sentai.
3:30 - 4:55 The relationship difference between Time Force and Time Ranger is night and day. Wes and his father clearly do care for one another but their life choices are what cause them to take different paths in what's right for them and for each other. Wes is a Ranger because he's making his own life choices instead of going with the flow in life. However, his father thinks Wes should be like him in order for him to step up and take hold of their family's company and views in making a profit. But it isn't until much later in the series where Wes's father finally accepts his son's wishes and lets him be a Time Force Ranger. Tatsuya's dad on the other hand seems extremely strict and is deadset for Tatsuya to focus on the company as whole instead of goofing with his friends. When he saw Tatsuya was one of the Time Ranger he wasn't just shocked, he was angry and even disappointed in Tatsuya from the way he's speaking with him. Now correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't seen the Super Sentai Time Ranger as I can't find it on RUclips but i'd assume the relationship between Tatsuya and his father relationship's only sours as the series goes on as his father still disapproves of him being apart of the Time Rangers. Correct if I'm wrong because I am curious to know if I'm wrong.
In Timeranger, Everyone expects him to follow in his dad’s footsteps but Tatsuya wants to known to the world as Asami Tatsuya not just the head of the Asami corporation. His father wants him to be a businessman and follow in his footsteps and not stay a timeranger as he wants him to not get hurt, but when Tatsuya finally snaps, Mr Asami understands that Tatsuya wants nothing to do with the company and therefore doesn’t help him until he realizes that Tatsuya would do anything to save his dad even tho he hates him. By the end, Mr Asami accepts Tatsuya and the odd jobs company he wants to make called Tomorrow Research. A really interesting dynamic that’s very different in Time Force
That's because the technology wasn't advanced at that time, hello?! Timeranger came out in 2000. Time Force in 2001. We didn't have all that fancy, smancy high-tech gadgets back in the early 2000's.
(This is a response for those that I have received concerning my channel and the content for which I am uploading). I happy that you have concern as to the material I upload is a danger to my channel. I respect your point of view where you're going with this. I have taken the liberty of talking with a few circles of people who know about what I am doing on the channel. They respect what I do but wouldn't do what I am doing because they have a different take. I have done lots of research and have already have some content blocked mostly because of the copyright laws in certain regions of the world. I am not doing this material for paid content of any kind. I am doing this as a fan for both shows. I already understand that uploading the videos I am showing is of of some concern to Toei, Bandai, Saban, etc. I already knew about the dangers of uploading these kinds of content years ago before I made this channel. But here's the one thing I will point out and have concern to those that do upload full episodes of Tokusatu's of any kind on RUclips. Those have a much higher risk of getting their channels taken down by certain companies but may not because in the regions those people uploading the content is different that it would be where I am from. Saban Entertainment and other companies don't want me to show certain videos which is why they block some of my content only in some regions. I have some ideas already what content Saban, Toei, and others will block and I am respecting their wishes and upload them somewhere else (which is why I made the Dailymotion account). Music, Videos, and other kinds of Entertainment is something we all need to be wary of and respect those that feel about fair use content. Bottomline I am happy and respect your concern as for the content I am uploading onto RUclips. Best of wishes. ~rangersentaiguy
Uh...dude, this is not the full episode, okay?! This is just a basic comparison to how the sentai footage were edited by the production crew back in 2001. If you wanna watch the full episode, just google search the damn season for all the episodes either on Kisscartoon or any other streaming site. Stop being such a crybaby!!!
Those were different times back then because I didn't know about much about the copyright laws within YT and with mostly Toei and Saban. If this is going to be said to me are you and others will be saying that to others that also post PR and Sentai vids on YT as well. There's are others that post a number of PR clips and other Tokusatus from different seasons (ignoring Neo-Saban channel because that's run by Saban). I know there's a number of people that have posted these kinds of clips and I don't see many others getting the same treatment. I am not saying your wrong for pointing me out I'm asking if others will be targetted as well if this keeps up?
Both guns exist in both versions, but in Time Force the gun TimeRed uses wasn't introduced yet as this happened much earlier in Time Force than it did in Timeranger.
Ranger series tend to stray away from the original Sentai story, and I was very impressed by the similarities between the two series. I could say for certainty that Time Force is a legit american adaptation of Timeranger.
Power Rangers always want to be different from the sentai because if they just stay close to the original, it would be a dub. Timeranger is a really hard season to adapt so using a bunch of the elements while adding original stuff to it was necessary. Time Force and Timeranger are very similar but their differences make them stand out
While the Silver Guardians are using lazer guns(to probably tone them down for children), their Japanese counterparts are using revolvers. Yet, earlier in Time Force some guy pointed a revolver at Ransik?
+Thomas Nevitt I know that even in Japan they still can be a little bit concerned for the kids. Next thing you know I've heard rumors that some people in charge of subbing the shows in English like TV Nihon would actually try adding some cursing in some lines just to make some of the shows look even more mature for English speaking audiences.
My favorite moments from both Time Force & Timeranger: Time Force: - The moment of truth between Wes & his father (after the monster wrecked Wes's helmet) - Eric becomes Quantum Ranger - Eric gains the Mega Battle Armor - The Final Battle (I'm glad Eric didn't die here) - Wes joins the Silver Guardians as the captain, with Eric as his partner Timeranger: - The moment of truth between Tatsuya & his father (after the monster wrecked Tatsuya's helmet) - Naoto becomes Time Fire - Ayase made up his mind to fight his disease - Gien betrays Dolnero - The Final Battle (kinda sad that Naoto die here)
The red super sentai looks like he's saying "Oh shit they found out my secret" whereas the red ranger like "Yo I'm the red ranger what up." lol. Also look at there freaking gun comparison.. he's using a freaking nerf gun....
Time Rangers is my favorite series overall, nothing wrong with other series, but I think it had one of the best (if not the best) main villain ever, Vernon Wells did an amazing job. Considering the target audience, it was a pretty dark series and tackled some problematic topics like war collateral casualties, racism and xenophobia
Man this brings back memories, I had this episode on VHS and I thought Eric or the Quantum Ranger was badass, I remember I'd always call myself Eric and I remember with my toy guns I'd always do that thing whenever he was smacking his gun against his hand.
Both these scenes are equally good. I like the Sentai version because the dad seems caring yet firm with his son, while also shocked at the fact his son is a Ranger. But the American version is also great too because Wes’ father retains that same caring firmness we see here in Sentai, only he’s more shocked because his son chose a different path than was set for him. Also the way Wes stands up to his Dad owns him bonus points.
love how they stay true even to the outfits of them, really nice, no wonder this show was so good love the Sentai versions speech, how he sees a different possibility than the company, a different future just said it so well

4:50 Did anyone notice that they both ran into different directions but ended up in the same place? I guess the one from the PR version just ran around the block after climbing up stars and then went into the green area until he arrived at square like the other one. lol
about the cars: The first one taken wholesale from the Japanese scene complete with Japanese plate The second one, in Power Rangers, is the newer model of the same automaker. about the guns Power Rangers has kibble, while Timeranger has actual cop revolver model

If only the mother of Wes appeared. Wes' dad: Wes! Son! If you just let me explain, you'd understand you're talking about your nonsense... Wes: No. Ever since you and mom split. All my life, I've done what YOU only wanted me to do. Well no more. No I'm gonna control my own future... without you. Wes' dad: Wesley I tried. But I just don't understand you. Wes: If mom was around, you'd start listening to what she has to say.

Super Sentai at that time is like J-Drama with Superheroes.
"Yes that's me, doing the usual nothing I ...usually do. Hehehe."

It's "Silver Guardians", not "Civil". Also, blame the censorship during 9/11.
"Toning it down for children" Sentai's aimed at kids in Japan as well, they can just get away with a bit more than America can.
Just pointing that out. Lol.
Okay.
My favorite moments from both Time Force & Timeranger:
Time Force:
- The moment of truth between Wes & his father (after the monster wrecked Wes's helmet)
- Eric becomes Quantum Ranger
- Eric gains the Mega Battle Armor
- The Final Battle (I'm glad Eric didn't die here)
- Wes joins the Silver Guardians as the captain, with Eric as his partner
Timeranger:
- The moment of truth between Tatsuya & his father (after the monster wrecked Tatsuya's helmet)
- Naoto becomes Time Fire
- Ayase made up his mind to fight his disease
- Gien betrays Dolnero
- The Final Battle (kinda sad that Naoto die here)
Is kinda sad that tatsuya in tiemranter don't become leader of the city guardians
