This one grew on me an insane amount. First i wanted more power in the first verse..but the more i hear it, the more i looooove it! I also wonder if it is made that way, to tell the story that this cult were kinda "low key" and "soft" (for a cult, that is) for nearly 20 years before sh*t suddenly went waaay to far.
I love the "do rei mei" verse and relation in there!! SKYND always does their research great! Thats another name they were nicknamed from the sound of music. Skynd is clever ❤
Yes it was a nod to Pink Floyd also. She's a huge fan of them, they influenced her all her life. I like the nod to Nike with the "Just do it" I remember when this happened, I'm in California. When heard this livr, I wasn't sure what I thought because I'm so familiar with this case. However it really grew on me. Especially picturing the cult members video of them talking about being a part of Heaven's Gate and then it all made sense. I didn't like "Nobody" by Avenged Sevenfold but it grew on me too! Thanks for the reaction video!
Why do you say she/they? She said something years ago about Kathrine Knight. She was set to interview her, but Skynd said in the interview that she (Knight) backed out upon finding out Skynd was I guess strafgt, I'm not sure I should repeat what she said. But I'll tell ya EVERYONE is attracted to Skynd!
@@rollingmetal949 true I've heard her say "us" but she'll sometimes clarify "Father and I" but their drummer deserves some attention too! I try to find any interview I can with her. See I say her, because it's almost always her to be the one tallkng. Father doesn't like to talk anyways it seems. I'll say she or they toom
I agree with you. Feels very ho hum and kinda joyless They way it just stops. Like im thinking "where's the rest of it?" I felt like the lyrics where more vague on the case, where their other songs go more in depth in events. Feels like no love went into this song. If that makes sense
@@mattlatakas7051 skynd have always learnt into a dark joy with their music. But it feels like that's missing with this. Compare to Jim Jones song. Where lyrics went from the founding of the community, to what Jim was really like to the end. The song would change tones, slow down before into a chaotic finale. Heavens gate is very one note and feels rushed in comparison. As an artist you should be passionate about the subject matter you work with. It isn't what I've come to expect from skynd. It's feels like they didn't care about this story. To me anyway.
@@callingdrwoodrue2339 That's fair. It's the first song I've heard from them so I still like it. I've been watching they're other videos and I agree. Columbine really f*cked me up...
I think this is one of the SKYND tracks that later grow on you (meaning myself, which is all I know, obviously) There are again many catchy lines, as always🤨 Omg my stupid hands fumbled the phone which is also broken btw, and i just noticed I'd left you a dislike!!! Sorry, I did not mean to, if you saw that! Love you man🙏🖤🖤🖤🐺
i am 54 and a metal head since i am 6 years old, this music from Skynd just amazed me, everything fits...

I love how they always cast actors that look really close to the real people
Thank you for SKYND!

Been waiting for this
It gets better for every time.. TRUST ME! I had the same reaction as you, until I heard it a couple times.. I’m absolutely obsessed with it now

I love that you pretty much can never be sure about the set list at the shows. There are always new unreleased songs
SHE/THEY is are amazing (Skynd I THINK researches the songs herself but the band cant be ignored)

Her Sith Lord style costumes definitely suits the topic of a space cult.
Ive been waiting for her to do this cult. I was not disappointed

There's supposed to be something joyful about a song depicting mass suicide?
