  • This lesson will get you sorted with how to play a fundamental djembe part. It is played with rhythms such as Moribayassa, Sofa, Soli lent, Balakulandjan, Senefoli, Kassa & Dibon rhythms, and so many more! Pay attention to your hand-stroke order.

    Very important pattern indeed. For more speed and endurance, try to reverse the "slap slap": right left instead of left right. Next level form intermediate-advanced players: play the whole thing with alternate hands. Practice wit a metronome. Practice alternaiting hands patterns seemingly (no difference must be noticeable in the music when you swicht from a hand pattern to another).

      Thanks for the info - I have played/been taught many ways on my journey but I now prefer this hand stroke order for the voicing.
