How did you turn off the rear oxygen sensor? I instaled off-road DP as well and I immediately had the check engine light on. Thank you for your answer.
if you have a Ecoboost Mustang with stock exhaust, which i imagine thats why your watching this video.... do you need to hear what a stock Ecoboost exhaust sounds like?
Resonated and non-resonated downpipe! This is a non-car guy just reading a script, because if he was a car guy, he'd known it is a catalytic converter or non-catalytic converter downpipe. Big opps MAP!
I’m looking to install a Catted down pipe and have not thought about a tune for it, I’m looking for slightly more sound more than performance needs. Im wondering if running a downpipe without a tune is dangerous or harmful to the car in any way?
I've been interested in the Stainless Works down pipe(catted) and cat back exhaust. But I have been informed that the down pipe requires a tune or the engine light comes on. (Why, I don't know. & why you can make a down pipe that doesn't require a tune, I don't know). But would this down pipe mate with the Stainless Works Cat back? And how would the sound be?
+Adam Gregory If their exhaust is a 2 Bolt Flange then yes it should! For any downpipe you should get a tune to maximize gains from it. If you have an Accessport already, our Stage 1 tune would pair very nicely with your set up! And yes I am certain it will sound amazing.
+MAPerformance I do not have an access port because I still have my warranty and I don't know what I'm doing and don't want to mess my car up lol. But if I wanted to go ahead and get my exhaust set up and hold off on the tune until my warranty is up, your down pipe doesn't produce an engine light, correct? I just wouldn't be reaching the full potential without the tune? Then when the time comes, you're referring to the COBB access port?
+Adam Gregory Yes, if you pick up an Cobb Accessport from us that tune would come free (otherwise $75). And correct our downpipe will not throw any lights and you should be more than fine without a tune for the time being. As far as tunes and warranties go, check around in your area or wherever you get your car serviced. Ask them how they treat tunes and warranties. Give us a call if you have any more questions! Adam would be happy to assist.
+MAPerformance I just spoke with Stainless Works. For fitment purposes, they wanted me to ask if your downpipe ends where the factory downpipe would end. If it does, then I'll be able to run your 3inch down pipe with their 3inch exhaust. Now, I asked about why your downpipe requires no tune and no check engine lights, but theirs does. The man I spoke too said this "factory O2 sensors are set up to read a certain amount of air flow. When you add a down pipe that increases the flow 2-4 times the factory amount, a check engine light will come on. Nothing is wrong, just the O2 can't read it without a tune. So for them (you guys) to say no check engine lights is hard for me to believe. That can only happen if their down pipe is not efficient, and still supplying the factory air flow."
+Adam Gregory Adam can you please give us a call and talk to a rep? They will be better equipped to answer your questions and will more effectively do so. Ask for Adam he is our Ecoboost guy!
I have a 2015 ecoboost performance pack. I did a resonaler and muffler delete and added a y pip and 3" tips out the back. would adding this make my car non street legal?
iAM iWho Our downpipe should not throw a check engine light. If you got one you might have a sensitive rear o2 sensor and it can be adjusted with a Cobb Accessport!
ccoghill23 Yes, if you check out or listing we have our recommended resolutions: www.maperformance.com/2015-ecoboost-ford-mustang-race-downpipe-by-maperformance-map-ebm-race-dp.html
+MAPerformance Question: you say to put in Rotella 5w40 but would that hurt the engine because of the thickness? It says it is for diesel applications.
I just installed this yesterday had to take the downpipe off 3 dam times ! there was a gap between the downpipe and gasket I had to use the old downpipe gasket to cover this space . Any help would be appreciated. also there's a wired noise coming from the tubing when I start n slow drive the car ??? what gives

You guys make some high quality well engineered products! Now let's see your upgrade for the intercooler hot pipe! 👍 With your intake and full exhaust, tune, more boost and a better hot pipe my guess 80-90 range. With the longer torque range of a turbo motor this should Make many 5.0l owners very unhappy 😄
Mauricio Salinas Catted: Less fuel smell, more emissions friendly, but higher in cost and produces less power. Cattless: More powerful, more cost effective, and louder. Intended for track/strip use only if you have emissions laws in your state.

You should have done a before and after sound comparison, otherwise you're not comparing anything. You only did the after sound.
if you have a Ecoboost Mustang with stock exhaust, which i imagine thats why your watching this video.... do you need to hear what a stock Ecoboost exhaust sounds like?
hmmm i will guess 70 HP and 90 torque increase with the kit. Cant wait to see them all together.
sounds the same

will this void powertrain warranty?

Is there gonna be error report after installing a catted downpipe?
How do you keep from getting a check engine light.
Is this non catted or catted in the video?! I'm assuming from watching the video it's non catted?

Sound and emission levels vary so we can't say for certain. We do offer a catted and catless version but this is intended for off-road use.
Can you give me a rough estimate of the price to buy the down pipe and a high quality turbo back exhaust?
Give us a call!
Did you get check engine light after installing catless downpipe? If so how did you fix it? Thanks.
iAM iWho Our downpipe should not throw a check engine light. If you got one you might have a sensitive rear o2 sensor and it can be adjusted with a Cobb Accessport!
+MAPerformance just making sure, you are confirming the CATLESS doesn't throw a check engine light?
Going to make a CA legal one?
Is it normal to see a lot of smoke coming from the catback downpipe after turning on the car and driving it for a couple seconds?
Relentlezz831 Yes, this is. There is a 40+ page thread on mustang6g.com forums about it. Ford is aware of the issue, no solutions yet!
+MAPerformance they say to raise stock rpm to 1000 for idle and that clears it up. Any thoughts? Apperantly has something to do with the pressure...

+JAYSWORLD_ TV Excellent! Give us a tag when you do!
Hi. how did you solve the problem? I bought MAP catted dowpipe but i can't fit it propertly, the pipe hit against a bracket. Thank you for you help

john martin The sound clips at the 2nd half of the video are after the install of our downpipe.
