I grew up in Boston and had never been to Winterland, though the 75-76 set list nation wide for early; Aynsley Dunbar, Neal Schon, Gregg Rolie JOURNEY were pretty dam close. I'd kick a hundred dollar a day heroin habit cold turkey just to see these guys get together and play their early stuff again. Best band I had ever seen and I've seen almost everyone!!
@@mikelopez9817 Rolie and Dunbar left Journey not long after Perry joined. Second time Gregg left a successful band. The first being Santana. He took Schon with him to form original Journey.
@direwolf58 Absolutely, I'm very aware of the info you provided. I've followed Journey since late 70s. My second concert was on July, 1980, at the LA Memorial Coliseum. Journey performed along with Black Sabbath, Cheap Trick, Molly Hatchet, the baby's. Probably too much info. But point is, lol, I loved listening to classic Journey.
My favorite Journey album: Look Into The Future, an amazing titled track as well , Infinity is my favorite Perry studio album & Ansley Dunbar! Journey’s greatest drummer in my opinion although love Steve Smith’s playing, as well as the others, Dunbar’s innovations/imaginative drumming has never been matched in Journey after his exit, anyhow, it’s great stuff🤙
My first show was in Chico as they had just released Next! Neal shreds. Glad to see Gregg will be on the 50th anniversary tour, but wondering if they will play anything from first three albums
2019. They first played a single show in SF which had such a great response that they decided to tour in this format. I wish they would do another one. I’ve seen the set list for recent regular Journey, and they play zero numbers from the first three albums. Sad
@@direwolf58The 2019 Journey Through Time tour had the plug pulled early on so here in Boston, we haven't had the privilege to feel the magic. I don't have access to social media but I have heard that there is a chance that Gregg may be on for a 1973 - 2023, fiftieth reunion tour. It looks like the closest Journey will be coming to Boston for me in 2023 is Hartford. If this show is going to go down, I will make it even if I have to beg, borrow or steel a ride off to Hartford just to hear a couple of their amazing early brilliant live jewels again.
I had the luck to see Journey before they got corrupt. Saw Journey in 1975 in Sacramento, CA. Great show and fabulous to have in my memory.
Been my favorite song for almost 48 years now, thank you Neal and Gregg!!!
I was at this show. I'd seen Journey many times but this was the first time I'd seen Gregg Rolie live. The band did not disappoint.
Loved this show Took me back to the winterLAND DAYS

Journey's best song ever!
I love the Rolie/Perry Journey, but the pre-Perry era is also great!

Thanks! Did you know Dunbar lost a coin flip to Mitch Mitchell to determine who would play drums for Jimi Hendrix Experience!? Great drummer indeed!
Thank you for making this video! 💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐♾️🎶🤙
You are welcome. It was so sweet getting to see numbers from the first three Journey albums live and in person. 🎼🎸
To me the first 3 albums of Journey = 💥🌞🌠 ,Perry era 1978-1987 1995-8 = ⚡🌦️⛈️☀️🥱😡🥵😵💫🧨🎯😵😪🤕🥹😥🙄😤💵💶💷💰💲🤑💸💴🫰🏼

Deen must be more jazzy. Too much rocky.
Is that really greg rolly
The one and only. Gregg was at Woodstock with Santana. He still plays with Ringo Starr’s Allstarr Band.
