Snake City is a Stockholm-based duo producing heartfelt, soul-influenced pop music with a twist. Both artists started their musical paths at an early age. Growing up they engaged in pop groups as well as rock bands, respectively. While one of them went on to choir school, the other attended high school with music as a major. In recent years they found common ground in their love for, and shared taste in, music and naturally came together as Snake City. Today they produce music full time and thrive from living this dream.
The creative process of this mysterious duo often starts with the singer hatching an idea. She writes all the melodies and lyrics, while the producer creates the cool beats around it using a variety of fun gear, such as an Akai MPC Live and a drum machine. Inspiration stems from alternative pop music as well as everyday life and beautiful things such as food, friends, sad movies and… Snakes! The various moods of the songs depend on the artists’ day-to-day states of mind - sometimes sad and low-key, sometimes happy and upbeat. Regardless of the mood, they all come with a beat that makes you wanna dance.

One night I was looking for a new game to "relax", if you know what I mean. I stumbled upon Eternum and was very pleasantly surprised by the references for other games and movies/animes. The story was also very intriguing. And now this song, which made me look for it on RUclips. Great game, I'm very glad that I found it and this song. Praise the lord Caribdis. song review: An obscure song thanks to Woodkid completely overshadowing it, I first found this song in the game Eternum. It comes on in a particularly intimate scene between the main character and the long time female friend, doing something romantic, risky and potentially dangerous. The message directly contradicts the blooming romance, and provides insight to the potential side of conflict. Something new is happening, and maybe she’s nervous and thinks they might not be good together. It creates a taboo feeling since it seems she might be thinking “run boy run away” yet is still continuing. It’s interesting how despite the similar lyrics to Woodkid's version, in the context it creates a contrast with an almost powerful and even sensuous feeling. It's like she is implying "I dare you to run away" in the context of Eternum. Or perhaps, Running past the starting point and becoming something that you never thought you could be. Now that, is surely an interesting way to also interpret Woodkid's "run boy run".
