Thanks for putting this clip online. I cannot remember how many times we went to Butlins at Bognor as children around this time. Such great memories. I wish something as good existed for my kids now.

I stayed here in 1985 when I was 12 and it's just how I remember this part of the complex with the amusement rides. I have fond memories of the week I spent there.

I loved seeing this. I went there with a friend of mine in 1987, we were both 17 and had a blast. It still remains my favourite memory

Brings back so many fantastic memories. Thank you for posting this. I would love to see any old clips from Butlins (Bognor) from the middle 80's.

I was in Bognor Regis in 1980 (at the age of 15) and stayed there with an English family in the Church Lane in South Bersted.

Yes I do, was fantastic, remember it well, I used to spend hours in there putting cars back on the track when they flew off because people took the corners too fast, even remember where it was next to amusement arcade facing car park towards the sea, amazing memories of when butlins was still what sir Billy intended, fantastic value, all action family holiday, sad to see what it has become now, lost all its soul and innocent charm, now just a commercial machine, cost a fortune to stay there and many attractions which used to be included cost extra and not just couple of quid, so grateful I experienced butlins at its best which in my opinion would be up to mid-late eighties, started to go downhill 90s onwards when they started ripping out a lot of the attractions that were included, chairlift, monorail, outside pool, games rooms, boating lake etc etc, such a shame but I have my wonderful memories.

@MSavageEsq Butlin's Minehead is still nearly as good. Alton Towers is much better in most ways but much more expensive.
Personally I go to Butlin's Minehead whenever I can (even though I live in Australia). I go about once a year. It's not as good as it was in the 80s but it's still very good and still feels like a proper Butlin's camp.
Bognor and Skeggy have been decimated beyond recognition though sadly.
