i couldn't find much about the Labirintus puzzles, except that 1. the company name is just VAMA (23:04) their logo is kinda similar to the Vans one, i tried looking for it but there's many"vama" brands, and none of the ones i found made puzzles or had this logo. The main MIlan-based one made hand dryers. 2. the "model kit" part probably just means that you assemble it first and then play with the finished maze, but 3. i'm really suspicious about the "modello depositato" after it. it sounds like it's just a model being used as a proof of concept to be registered for a patent, i don't know how it ties in with the fact that there are two with the exact same design and same color, but it makes sense to have a number 3 with a different design. 4. There's a ® symbol after the number 1, and also after the triangular puzzle piece shape in the bottom right corner, but there's none after the 3. It probably did not get registered and is not an actual product, and the one this image shows is the proof of concept model. 5. at 23:09 the box says "600 tales" instead of the english "pieces" or the italian "pezzi". i checked the other latin alphabet languages on the box, and it's no french, no german, and no spanish. i don't know what language it is 6. i tried to follow worthpoint to find the ebay listing for the Labirintus 3, and it brings me to an error page, it's in australian ebay, and i don't know if it's a clue but there 7. i really tried to read the back of the Labirintus 3 box but the image is so, so pielated and i don't know if there's any clues there anymore
Hi Karen, I don't know about rare puzzles, but since you like puzzles of puzzles, I thought I would mention some I know of. They aren't rare, but you might still enjoy them, if you can get your hands on them. The company is Puls Entertaintment and I think they're a german company. They seem to be specializing in very hard puzzles and they have several "das puzzle mit puzzle motiv". They call them Puzzle Puzzle (gold), Puzzle Puzzle² (blue), Puzzle Puzzle³ (green). The pictures are different, not just the colors. But I don't know if they're available in the US.
(Sorry it's a bit wordy...) Even though you already have it, I found a mysterious connection that may help with the Lawson and Lawson puzzles. I was looking on eBay for the Crossword Jigsaw Puzzle and I found one that looks just like your puzzle! I ended up purchasing it because it was a great price, but noticed it looked a little bit different than yours! So, I compared the picture on WorthPoint (which looks like your puzzle) and noticed a few differences, but also some similarities! Once it arrives, I will be able to compare them even better. However, your puzzle is from Lawson in Wilton, Connecticut and the one I found is from New Approaches Inc. from Wilton, Connecticut. Did they perhaps change their name? I think that might be the case because the WorthPoint picture shows a bit of the up/down hints and they seem to be the exact same as the ones in the eBay picture for the New Approaches Inc. puzzle. The cover to your crossword puzzle a little more to the left and the one I bought is a little more centered. HOWEVER... when I searched "New Approaches Puzzle" on eBay, a 3rd version of the exact same puzzle appears! It has yellow on the box in addition to the black and white and it says Series 1, No. 1 ... but when looking again at the sheet of clues - they are the exact same!! So...did the company just remake the exact same puzzle over and over again with just a new box?! I hope this helps some!
@@alessiaagazzi8605 I have a follow up on the VAMA company. I have searched for "vama model kit" and found and active ebay italy listing for a model kit. The logo on the box seems similar with the one the puzzle, so it might be the same. Also, there is another older italian company which make model kits named Italeri. They might know something about the other company. @karenpuzzles I have sent you more information about these in an email.
I feel like this video is kinda meta! You’re solving a puzzle about solving puzzles. No but really, I appreciate your dedication to tracking all this stuff down. I don’t personally have the attention span to do jigsaw puzzles myself but I find the history so fascinating.
I have never done a jigsaw puzzle in my life, but I can't stop watching your videos! You radiate a zest for life that is so contagious! I always feel inspired after watching you. That might sound corny but you are legitimately helping me through some depression and I appreciate you so much for unabashedly sharing your passion with the world. You rock Karen!
Okay so I was born in 1979 but my grandma had tons of puzzles because she was a big Puzzler. I swear I remember the round competitive puzzle. If I'm correct each one of the concentric circles are their own jigsaw puzzle and then, put together, they slide so that you can line up the numbers to solve another puzzle like a decoder. I can't tell you anything about this puzzle other than that, but I'm pretty sure I remember playing with it as a small child!!!
@@KarenPuzzles sadly I don't have pictures from my childhood, due to some natural disasters, but the memory is pretty solid. I used to chain together the concentric circles and swing it around so it must have been a pretty solid puzzle 😅😅😅 heh. I would never treat a puzzle that way now!!!
I just looked up on ebay and the rarest or at least most expensive puzzles there were the asian Kremis Island Diddy Kong puzzle for >3000$ and the Heye 8000 piece New York puzzle for >2000€. It was very interesting to see that even new Ravensburger puzzles from 1978 were under 100€. Maybe this looks different on other continents (I am from Germany).
Especially love your vintage puzzle videos! Whether you’re solving them, showing off your collection, or telling us the history of these obscure, gorgeous relics, I just eat up these videos! Keep up the great work, KP! ☺️
Karen, my late dad was an avid jigsaw puzzler back in the day, and we kids would buy him ones like the solid color and op-art ones back in the 1970s - 80s. When he passed in 2017 none of us wanted them, and we Goodwilled the entire collection. So I can't send you anything, but would recommend thrift stores as a possible source for folks looking for puzzles.
Okay Karen. I have been watching youtube forever (been watching beauty gurus since they were called beauty gurus) but never actually buy the products people show in videos. I had 0 puzzles, but within 3 weeks of finding your channel I have now purchased 3. You are the Ultimate Influencer. Lol. really though, your enthusiasm for puzzling has really inspired me to do more things just for the enjoyment of the activity. So thank you!
I haven’t put together a puzzle in years, stumbled across her videos when I was actually looking for chess puzzle videos 😂… but now I’m hooked. Andddddd I’ve bought two ravensburger puzzles, a 1000 and 2000 piece. So I second this mightily.
Your passion is amazing Karen! The fact that you found and talked with people who worked on them is huge! That deepdive is pretty interesting. Never knew vintage puzzles could be so cool
I bought the maze puzzle from Bits and Pieces so they may know more about them. If I remember, you have a contact there. There were three different mazes in red, blue, and green. The blue one you showed looks like the same pattern as the red one, but I'm pretty sure that all three mazes were different when they appeared in the catalog. I'll also send you email on a silver optic puzzle which looks like it could be part of the set of those puzzles which came in blue boxes, but mine is a different pattern. The puzzle actually fits inside the box, which is what the ones you showed looked like. Good luck with finding all the mysterious puzzles you want.
Hey am I the only one who really does like landscape puzzles?! I looooove solving the sky, especially when it's a sunset cuz it's just sooo pretty. And I also love solving grass, mountains and water because it is basically almost like a solid coloured puzzle with an interesting texture, which makes it so much more challenging and cool to solve!
I love this kind of videos, seeing someone so exited about sharing their favourite things in collections and the misterys around the items, such great content to binge. Can't wait for the next update on your findings!
I love the evolution of your hobby and in turn your channel. You weren't too keen on solid color puzzles before and now we are here collecting solid color puzzles and being all detective on obscure and mysterious puzzles that not even the internet knows about. Also the 70s: Shapeless patters and Patternless Shapes. Oh come on! 😅😅
Karen i keep my eye open for interesting puzzles for you everytime i hit the thrift stores and yard sales. Im glad you decided to let us know what you are looking for as it will help the search. Good Luck!
I'm from Germany and i'm pretty sure you can just message the people on ebay in english and than you can buy the old krypt puzzels or others you can find there. You'll have to pay quite a bit of shipping I suppose, but I can't see a reason why you wouldn't be able to buy from there.
Looking forward to seeing progress in Karen’s hunt for these mysterious puzzles! I think my favourites would be the colourful graphic ones! Good luck, Karen!
So I looked into the Ravensburger graphic and the old crypt puzzles and you’re right here in Germany they really aren’t that hard to get, on eBay Kleinanzeigen I even saw to of the crypt ones for only 10€, so with a contact in Germany you should definitely be able to get your hands on those. I can definitely help out if you want🤗
It appears the best way to search for the Ravensburger Graphic puzzles is just to use those two words: Ravensburger (and maybe Ravensberger just in case) Graphic (and maybe Graphics as well). I noticed a Graphic 2 puzzle sold from a seller in Germany almost exactly a month ago for a reasonable price (excluding shipping). For some reason, though, even though the title included "Graphic 2", a completed item search for Ravensberger "Graphics 2" didn't show it.
as a puzzle nerd and internet detective nerd myself, this video was such a treat to watch! i hope you can find some of these elusive puzzles. maybe one day you'll start your own puzzle museum haha.
Another great video! After discovering your channel I bought my Mom a 1000 piece puzzle for Christmas, AND SHE'S STILL WORKING ON IT! Keep up the good work. I'm always looking forward to your next. 💖
It’s my favorite thing that whenever something MYSTERIOUS comes up and Karen puts on her detective hat, it’s a literal deceive hat she literally puts on.
I’m just thrilled to hear that there exists a mysterious “puzzle grapevine!” Thanks for all the information. 🥰 I’d love to do any or all of the Graphic puzzles. They are so visually pleasing.
OMGOSH!! I went to look for the puzzle before watching the whole video, and I found the same puzzle, and you must have been the one that they said sold!! I was so hoping to send you a link to it!! Your too good!!
One copy of the Graphic III from Ravensburger is mine, but it reminds me to my childhood, because my brother and I puzzled it several times together. It is really beautiful and worth to have. But there are actual similar puzzles available from Remember, a company from Krefeld, Germany. I just love their mysterious designs. ❤
So much fun to watch!! I collect puzzles and attended a couple of Puzzle and Game conventions several years ago. I have fun stories about that experience. The woman at the time who knew the most was Ann Williams. She has written a couple of puzzle collection books - I have them. You might already be familiar with her, but if not she might be a good resource for you.
I'm very new to your channel but I find your content and passion about your love of puzzles endearing. Also, if you end up partnering with a puzzle making company I hope you come out with a series of puzzles called "Karen's Puzzles".
I started a couple of collections years ago but soon I realized that I only wanted the rare and unique versions of those things; so I had to stop because it was very difficult and expensive, really impossible to get them. I don't find it interesting to collect things that are not rare, unique and everyone can get, but that's just me. I truly hope that you find your holy grail puzzles Karen. Keep posting please.
These are my favorite videos of yours to watch. It intrigues me how many crazy puzzles have been made. But do you ever reverse image search the pictures of the puzzles? That might help locate it if someone has named it something else online.
well....I was able to find info on Lawson & Lawson by absolute random chance and some rooting around in the national archives but I haven't finished my digging. It seems that the copyright holder is a man named Tomas Lawson and he was (is?) an artist. Outside of these puzzles, there seems to be very little other 'game' type work that he's done. Most of his art is small scale sculpture; small pieces you'd have on a desk or side table. What's crazy is that my dad owned one of these sculptures (and I'm sure it's still in storage) as we owned a house right near Wilton, CT. However, I haven't been able to find anything about the puzzles or any current info about him yet. I'll keep you posted!
Hi, Karen, love your channel, I'm an investigative journalist. One thing I used to do when researching scams on the internet for an article, was to do a Google Lens search. It would often lead me to the source of a photo or video. So if you know what a puzzle should look like, you can try this method to get to the source. Happy hunting!
I've been binging all your videos! i'm on part 4 of the Life puzzle now. i had no idea all of these unique puzzles existed. i can't wait to get back into puzzling! 🥰 ily.
interesting video! i know hägar the barbarian here in germany too. awesome that the guy that draws this is still in business and had designed a puzzle in the past, before i was born :D the ret of the video was very interesting too :)
Ravensburger V would be the one I would do; I enjoyed the sleuthing of the puzzles you are interested in and how mysterious some of them were to find out about. I'm learning so much about puzzling via your platform. Thank you!
I kind of wish you'd try putting together the patternless shapes puzzle. It's so different from any other puzzle I've seen. I'd really like to see if you find it easy or difficult, frustrating or fun, etc. If it's fun, it would be cool to see puzzles like that back on the market.
Ooh, I have some friends who work at Celanese. I wonder if they have a department or group that might be aware of that kind of company history... Not expecting anything, but I'll let you know if I ever can get any info about it.
unrelated to rare puzzles but you have this such an intoxicatingly sweet energy that when i first started watching ur videos i had to pause occasionally bc i really was overwhelmed by the sweetness 😭 but now im a Veteran™ and maybe kind of an addict bc when i started seeking out your exact brand of energy 😭😭😭 anyway good day and best of luck on your quest to find these rare puzzles!
Oh my gosh, okay, so I hadn't finished watching the video before I made my previous comment but I also remember having that Halley's Comet puzzle!!!!! I was absolutely *obsessed* with Halley's Comet as a kid!!! Yes, at 6 years old I was already a huge science nerd🤣 I had tons of Halley's Comet merch from back in the day, sadly it's all been lost to history! Embarrassingly enough, I don't think I ever finished the puzzle because it was just too hard for me back then 😭😅
I would most like to do the puzzles with the triangular pieces. I just think that taps into your creativity and makes you think outside the box a bit. Thanks for your videos.
The Eaton puzzles are interesting. Here in Canada we used to have a department store similar to Sears called Eaton's, and the font in their logo looked pretty much exactly like the one used on those puzzles. They filed for bankruptcy and closed down back in the late 90s. Eaton isn't exactly an uncommon name so probably not related, but fascinating. Also in the points listing for the coffee puzzle, it looks like the hidden word ends in "us" so maybe "genius"? Did I solve the mystery? lol I do a lot of thrift shopping and definitely always look at the puzzles, so I'm really hoping to come across one your holy grails someday to send to you!
I owned the Ravensburger Graphic V puzzle as a kid in the mid 70s. Unfortunately it is long gone. I loved that puzzle and did it multiple times (and had lost a couple of pieces 😞). Good luck with the hunt.
You would probably love my 80ies ‚Where is Waldo‘ jigsaw with only Waldos on it! 😂 The think puzzles are not really rare, I might have one in my basement, will check. 😊
I just love listening to your Puzzle obsession so much XD I wish I could help you to get any of these mysterious puzzles, but sadly I can just wish you good luck on your hunt! :D
Hearing my name during the first third of this video so often was amusing. Then I thought about all "bad Karen" videos I've seen on the youtubes, and you must get that all the time. Just watched this video and your Murder She Wrote video, it was so mysterious, I loved the intro to that one, and the back and forth you have with your sister was the best! Thanks for always keeping things entertaining!
Usually I have a feel for what the code word for completing the video will be, but this one is more mysterious to me. Sleuthing sources to acquire these puzzles is a puzzle in of itself. This was a very interesting episode. Thank you.
20:34 - you should totally try to assemble a puzzle in its plastic bag. I know people do that for the Lego Advent calendars. I guess footprint of the completed puzzle would be an issue, but... maybe there might be a small kids puzzle out there? Or do sections?
Seashell: You didgreat! Congratulations making your goal of under a an hour !👏🎉 I will definitely be tuning in this weekend to see the competition it would have been great to watch live with you 🙂
I see Folger's coffee puzzles in a can on Ebay. A 1950's give away. Cheap, not rare. I was looking for the rare coffee puzzle for you : ) I got into puzzles lately because of you.
I'm tempted to start looking at my local thrift store just for these puzzles, but I don't know how often they get vintage puzzles. If I ever found one of these, I'd send them to you!
If you still have that catalog, it may be a great idea to scan it and send the file to the Internet Archive. That way it can be found by other collectors and hobbyists.
Hello Karen, I love your Mysterious creative intro of this video with square and space as well as all of Your investigations getting rare puzzles! Best Regards, Ralf
I don't have any of thoss mysterious ones, but sometimes do get a nice surprise when I see a puzzle you've done pop up in the thrift stores I get puzzles from. So far I've seen the Springbok murder mystery, the Bits and Pieces lighthouse, the purple - blue gradient that you didn't finish, and just last week the 200 piece impossible clear puzzle :o
That would be a mysterious puzzle collection. I would like to try the yellow paint puzzle. I’ve never done a solid color puzzle. The closest I’ve ever come is puzzles with a lot of the same color, and I got my first gradient puzzle because of you. I’m currently working on a ravens burger 2000 piece puzzle
I’ve been looking all over for a puzzle I did all the time as a kid. Pretty sure it was ravensburger. Kids puzzle so maybe 150 pieces. It was drawn cartoon style and it was a busy chalet-style hotel. Bought on holiday in the Black Forest but probably donated to charity in UK in the 90s and then gone forever. ☹️
OKOK WAIT I was looking at the video (super interesting as usual 😍) feeling a bit useless because as an Italian I cannot help with any of these USA puzzle hunting BUT THEN I SAW MILANO??? I’ve never heard of any terrific maze craze puzzles but as soon as I have time I’ll do a bit of research because maybe there will be some info on Italian websites 💪🏻
My grandparents had a solid-color puzzle that was bright blue. Somehow my grandmother had some orange trays from a fast-food place, and she used a couple of them to hold the pieces. She had to stop because the orange and blue together gave her a headache. 😄
I see spring box has a puzzle called “amazing maze” not sure if u mentioned it or have it but it looks right up your alley! Rare, vintage are in the title as well. I love your videos I’m an avid puzzler on and off I get in and out of it
Always fun to watch one of your Rare/Vintage Puzzle videos, it’s interesting to learn all of these unknown “mysterious” puzzles to me! Personally I would love to do the Puzzlement puzzle since I love abstract colourful artwork on basically everything 😆😆

You're one of TWO channels I have the notification bell on for, and every video popping up brightens my day so much 🥰
One copy of the Graphic III from Ravensburger is mine, but it reminds me to my childhood, because my brother and I puzzled it several times together. It is really beautiful and worth to have. But there are actual similar puzzles available from Remember, a company from Krefeld, Germany. I just love their mysterious designs. ❤
What's mysterious to me is that I don't enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles, myself, but I enjoy your videos! 🙂
Those ravensberger graphic puzzles are SO COOL!!!
So many rare and awesome puzzles! I'll have to try to keep them in mind when going to thrift stores and yard sales.
I jumped up with excitement! I have one of the Ravensburger puzzels!! The middle one at 26:45
These are my favorite videos of yours to watch. It intrigues me how many crazy puzzles have been made. But do you ever reverse image search the pictures of the puzzles? That might help locate it if someone has named it something else online.
I love all of your deep-research videos and I really loved this one.
Such a mysterious puzzle video. I love those graphic ones the best
This video was so much fun to watch!!!! I love that puzzles were so popular in the 70s. Just so so retro.
well....I was able to find info on Lawson & Lawson by absolute random chance and some rooting around in the national archives but I haven't finished my digging.
🥰 ily.
WOW!! What a goal! Good luck with your "mysterious" treasure hunt! I will keep an eye out as I surf the web.
26:01 looks so cool and retro!! Love those!
interesting video! i know hägar the barbarian here in germany too. awesome that the guy that draws this is still in business and had designed a puzzle in the past, before i was born :D
the ret of the video was very interesting too :)
Good luck and happy hunting. I think puzzlement would be the one I want to do. A mysterious person who may or may not have it just adds to the fun
The frustrator looks beautiful and I'd love to see you do this mysterious puzzle on your channel!!
unrelated to rare puzzles but you have this such an intoxicatingly sweet energy that when i first started watching ur videos i had to pause occasionally bc i really was overwhelmed by the sweetness 😭 but now im a Veteran™ and maybe kind of an addict bc when i started seeking out your exact brand of energy 😭😭😭 anyway good day and best of luck on your quest to find these rare puzzles!
Good Luck I hope you get all of em as soon as possible!!
A pun about square and space? I love it and I’m here for it 🔥
I love that there's a "puzzle grapevine" !
I love all of this puzzle research!
how exciting. can't wait to see the finished comet puzzle! shall be a MYSTERY 😮
Watching this while on a puzzle break 😊 I was going cross eyed, lol
Hi Karen I just thrifted a Ravensburger Graphic III for $4! How cool!
You would probably love my 80ies ‚Where is Waldo‘ jigsaw with only Waldos on it! 😂
The think puzzles are not really rare, I might have one in my basement, will check. 😊
I just love listening to your Puzzle obsession so much XD I wish I could help you to get any of these mysterious puzzles, but sadly I can just wish you good luck on your hunt! :D
im a very new puzzler.. and your videos are just so fun to watch, i love how passionate you are when you talk abt puzzles.. lol ^_^
I have a few of the Eaton puzzles. It is cool to learn there is a website about them. Thanks.
Thank you.
Question, do the wet paint puzzles use the same die cutter? Could you theoretically used two or more of them to make a multi colour version?
Yes, they're the exact same cut! I can definitely mix and match once I have all of them.
The Coffee Puzzle Point Distribution is indeed snarky. What writing 😂
This was a great video! I became very invested in knowing if you would find the puzzle!
20:34 - you should totally try to assemble a puzzle in its plastic bag. I know people do that for the Lego Advent calendars. I guess footprint of the completed puzzle would be an issue, but... maybe there might be a small kids puzzle out there? Or do sections?
Those Ravensburger Graphic puzzles are epic!
Loved this video :3 I hope you can get all of this *mysterious* puzzles :3
Yay! I always get so happy when I see a new video of yours posted 😁
Seashell: You didgreat! Congratulations making your goal of under a an hour !👏🎉 I will definitely be tuning in this weekend to see the competition it would have been great to watch live with you 🙂
Cher once said that you should be your own rich man. Karen almost took it literally and we love it lol
I see Folger's coffee puzzles in a can on Ebay. A 1950's give away. Cheap, not rare. I was looking for the rare coffee puzzle for you : ) I got into puzzles lately because of you.
The Lawson and Lawson Puzzle is twisted in the best way possible.
I'm tempted to start looking at my local thrift store just for these puzzles, but I don't know how often they get vintage puzzles. If I ever found one of these, I'd send them to you!
I'm watching this quite a bit after it was uploaded, but I just found 2 of the Ravensburger Graphic III puzzles on eBay if you're still looking
If you still have that catalog, it may be a great idea to scan it and send the file to the Internet Archive. That way it can be found by other collectors and hobbyists.
Hello Karen,
I love your Mysterious creative intro of this video with square and space as well as all of Your investigations getting rare puzzles!
Best Regards, Ralf
These puzzles are so mysterious
OKOK WAIT
I was looking at the video (super interesting as usual 😍) feeling a bit useless because as an Italian I cannot help with any of these USA puzzle hunting BUT THEN I SAW MILANO???
I’ve never heard of any terrific maze craze puzzles but as soon as I have time I’ll do a bit of research because maybe there will be some info on Italian websites 💪🏻
I feel like I have a collection of rare puzzles of my own through you 😆
My grandparents had a solid-color puzzle that was bright blue. Somehow my grandmother had some orange trays from a fast-food place, and she used a couple of them to hold the pieces. She had to stop because the orange and blue together gave her a headache. 😄
Do they still have it? Was it Little Boy Blue Coming Home by Springbok?
I hope one day you can do a video of jigsaw puzzle arranging with those creators or designer with those rare puzzles.
