Ciao Marco e Rafaele! Thank you for such an informative and detailed video. My husband is currently taking Italian courses and isn't quite at a B1 level yet (I am an Italian citizen). Our marriage is already registered with the AIRE in Miami and we have already obtained a copy of the Italian marriage/civil union certificate from Italy. My question is: do we need to have the B1 certificate before we begin applying for his citizenship or is there anything we can work on in the meantime while he improves his Italian and before he passes the B1 test? I know it's an online application. So, do they ask for all the documents at once or is it the type of setup where we can upload or submit documents as we get them? I just would hate to be wasting precious time if there's something we could be doing now. Grazie infinite! E potete rispondermi sia in inglese come in italiano. Per me, e' uguale :)

Thank you for the video! I have a question, can a consul ask for a Criminal Background Checks for a second time on the day of the ceremony?

In Reference to Criminal Background Checks for the Spouse Married to the Italian Citizen, are they the Only one that Needs this?
Does the Italian Citizen Need the same for their Recognition Process as well?

These podcasts have been great. If applying through Jure Matrimonii and the non-italian who is applying has a minor child from a previous relationship, can that child gain citizenship as well?

Will the marriage start time for Italian Citizenship by Marriage (for me) will start counting when she gets her citizenship? Or when we actually got married? Thanks!

In England and after the Brexit my husband cannot live in Italy more than 180 days at time, we are thinking the best thing is to get the Italian citizenship for him to be able to stay in Italy longer. We married in Italy in 1984,once he gets the Italian cittadinanza does he has to give up his British one? Many thanks and kind regards.Ah….regarding the Italian language , do they use a specific test? Thank you.

Hello! He could retain both citizenships. Yes there is a specific test made available by schools approved by the Italian government.

This linguistic test is just insane as my wife is italian and doent not speak italian. Its a clear case of prejudice as for process through descent its not required! Anyways!
