I was really rooting for Sadio! Still am. When that tear rolled down his cheek after he heard his mother praise him & express how she prays for him regularly... every African child knows that feeling, wanting to give our parent(s) the world, and the overwhelming love they have for you, but also the pressure to succeed. Its so sad the odds were so against him at only 24 years old, living in poverty & having to be the man of the house. If he migrates to Europe i pray he has or had a safe journey... i cant help but picture the scenes i see on TV of African immigrants arriving on boats risking their lives.

George Lobouno... they can join international competitions even outside of school...because making an education program for a country is more difficult and more expensive.. however, if the country can make a wrestling program that can help send qualified athletes to Europe and US, these men can make a decent living.. its even nice that MMA is gaining popularity.. i can see africans making it big in UFC someday.

I've heard of Senegalese wrestling before. This is the first time I've seen a documentary on it. Quite interesting sport and quite impressive athletes. Other than that, the only thing I know about Senegal is Jollof rice. And the kora, but that's more of a Mandinka/Mande instrument, and more a Mali/Gambia thing. I'm guessing this sport is of Wolof origin.

Senegalese Lutte an ancient African sport where the men are pure natural Kings, their strength can be seen in their tall, lean, muscular stature. It seems as though everything African the european world want a piece of so they can control and exploit and then make more monetary gain than the African Kings who are the true originators.

Well, yes and no, it’s unclear.
Wrestling is one of the oldest forms of combat, referenced in the Iliad and depicted in 15,000-year-old cave drawings in France. Early Egyptian and Babylonian reliefs show moves still used today. Always popular in Ancient Greece, wrestling held a prominent place in the Olympic Games...

Jason Brat Parker.. Egypt was long before Greece and so was Nubia, wrestling was apart Nubia, Greeks came to Egypt at the end of Nile ppl rule,so Greeks never brought wrestling to Africa, wrestling is still apart of Sudan... this Lady's comments were retarded but Europeans did not bring wrestling to the continent..
