A lot of times, it's like the other characters didn't have anything else to do except for the convenience of Elena & protect Elena this & Elena that. It was very annoying. Tbh. I got fed up by season 2 - 3. I only kept going because I mainly got in for Bonnie & Damon(that was a looonnggggg wait) and the TVD universe was actually interesting and I wanted to know more.
Fun fact Bonnie and Damon are together in the books for a while, while Elena and Bonnie fight for his affection but bonnie is somewhat his soul-mate in the book while Stefan's is Elena's
I get why y’all want them to be together, but I feel like they were the perfect pair of best friends. You didn’t need them to make out on the screen to feel how much they cared about each other. I think that this was the best writing that they could have done to do these characters justice.
Delena gives you that traditional teen romcom feel, but Bamon feels like an actual couple. Not only is there chemistry, but she actually holds him accountable unlike Elena who lets him get away with everything

Because she’s so headstrong in her morals and sure of herself. Elena was in a constant state of “I don’t know what I want” and let Damon get away with everything. (Like killing jeremy). If Damon did something like that to Bonnie, she wouldn’t forgive him. He respects her in ways he doesn’t respect Elena
