In this virtual seminar, Rabbi Paula Drill will provide the spiritual approach to aging by analyzing Jewish texts and values that lead us toward an uplifting perspective rather than a declinist view on aging. Rabbinic wisdom tells us to live every day as if it were our last. At first glance, this teaching may seem morbid, but it can actually be a key to a more vibrant, purposeful, and joyful life in our golden years. Join us as we end this meaningful program series with hopefulness and learning.
Rabbi Paula Mack Drill is one of three rabbis of the Orangetown Jewish Center, Orangeburg, New York, where she has served for her entire rabbinic career of over twenty years. A social worker who returned to Jewish Theological Seminary after twelve years in the field, she was ordained in May 2004. Rabbi Drill studied as a Wexner Graduate Fellow. She currently serves on the Board of the Rockland Pride Center and as President of the Rockland County Board of Rabbis. Rabbi Drill is a certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor, a certification she earned during one of her sabbaticals in a 200-hour intensive course. Rabbi Drill’s passions are making Torah accessible for all, creating inclusive communities, and social justice work. Rabbi Drill and her husband Jonathan are the proud parents of Noah (and Rochelle), Sarah (and Sagi), Ben (and Lindsay), and Josh (and Shay). They have two fabulous grandchildren, Carmel and Teddy.
