Does this work with lightning ? I was also thinking since I’m using a iPhone with MagSafe, also throwing a MagSafe puck charger on the back of my phone to charge it faster while it’s plugged into lighting any thoughts ?
I like how you say I'd normally tell you to use but connectors but since I dont have any in going to show you the car superior way using a soldering iron lol
What's even crazier that Ford's OFFICIAL way of fixing things in cars is actually no soldering at all. they do the same thing I did in terms of put on heat shrink, twist the wires together and fold over, but they ONLY use the heat shrink to hold the wires together 😳 Supposedly due to wire harnesses moving and shifting (especially in the engine bay area and moving places like doors and hatches) this is an optimal method to prevent solder joints from breaking down over time!
@@NaviUpgrade ford also put the wrong headgaskets on the RS so I'm not so sure id follow their twist flip and heatshrink. I like to solder and marine heatshrink my stuff togeather. Its super cheap for a box of the stuff at Harbor Freight.
I tried to follow your videos about sync 3 but they didn’t answer me to my question: -how can i see youtube from my iPhone to my car screen, Ford Kuga 2018 with sync 3, version 3.0( in my country at ford website is not available a new software that allows this) Do you have any idea? Thank you for your answer!
I have a 2019 Crv I have a regular USB that connects to android auto but charges extremely slow. Is this what would be needed if I would like to charge faster?
In a situation where I have already installed a secondary USB input port for my front passenger (running off the Ford USB hub), I would I guess have to give that up ? Not sure I want to do that, especially as I cut a hole for it! Or, is there a Ford-compatible USB hub available that supports main plus 2 aux outputs ?
Bummer, I got the Power/Data splitter and it doesn't work on my Pixel 5, Pixel 6A, or the Oppo A76 I had lying around. It either requires the data to be connected first, charges at 500mA max, won't work on a device providing USB-PD power, or a mix of all three (depending on the phone). Tried a bunch of USB devices - my Kenwood head unit, my laptop PC, my desktop PC. The issue is the phone used, not the USB device being connected to.
Super weird. I'd contact the maker, Rohan - there is a Facebook group for the pd splitter which is a good way to contact him. Maybe he or others in that group have some insights. Did you do the USB-C flip trick to see if that made it work?
@@NaviUpgrade yeah I've reached out. Definitely not a cable flip issue; I can get power but it's either slow charge (500mA) with data or no data at all. Depends on the phone I'm using. The other thing I noticed is that there are other products that do the same thing (on Tindie) and they have resistors used on some of the lines, whereas this one does not.
Just a head up the this doesn’t work for Apple devices for car play because iPhones need the data pins connected to the charger so they can communicate or something. It stupid, i know, but that’s Apple. You can’t separate the data pins from the charger or the Apple device won’t charge at full amperage. It will be limited to around .5amps.
This is too complicated. I can ruin something in the electronics in the car . Its ok this way, rather to buy great power bank, or doing this in my new car.
I just j be light the tindie splitter, and the 12v cigarette charger that gives 18w and it just works. No tools required. Problem is I’m on my second tindie now, after the first started disconnecting from the android unit and getting progressively worse, and now the second tindie has started doing the same after 2 weeks I wonder if it doesn’t like receiving more than a certain number of watts
Love what you did here. Definitely want to use this as a reference to do this in my 2003 Honda Accord.
Well done!! Thanks for the video AND offering the fused power adapter!! Would have made setting mine up even easier.
Any other devices than the Tindie?
Sold out since August, likely stopped manufacturering it

Hahaha... well most don't have access to a soldering iron and I don't want to be the reason for any burnt fingees so 😆

@@SideSwipePB I'll take solder and marine heat shrink any day over barrel crimps. It makes the harness so much more compact and easy to deal with.

there is another tindie or a similar product?
Yet another brilliant video. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Is the fused power adapter specific to ford’s or could I use it to do this mod to my 2010 Chevy Traverse?
So you have a link to the single port usb AA/Carplay plug that the stock setup used?

Supposedly you can actually put a hub between your hub and run multiple devices off of that

Hi is it possible to copy saved vehicle profile on forscan from one pc to another pc and how would I do it thanks
In My Documents there's a folder called FORScan - in there there's a folder called profiles. Copy that folder to your other computer 😊
@@NaviUpgradeWhat laptop are you using in this video? I'm looking for something about that size to keep stashed in my car. Thanks in advance!
That splitter is no longer available; anybody have a suggestion?
I'll ask the Creator in his FB group if he's getting more soon!
Just asked... Will update if/when I get a response.

Good job 👍👍

@NaviUpgrade The issue I'm having is getting that damn tindie device it's been out of stocks for about a year.

@NaviUpgrade I could build a pcb, but I need the schematic which I'm not able to find anywhere

Know anybody else making a USB c splitter like that?
I'm not aware of any ☹️

If only there were a simple way to just do it directly with the regular ports in our cars 😢
