Anuj Dhar, Vikram Sampath and Abhijit Chavda on History of India's Independence |

  • Indian Independence history has been a result of blood and sweat of millions of Indias, unfortunately our history has been skewed in the favor of a select few. Many people who actually were the reasons why India gained its freedom have been maliciously sidelined. But now it's high time that they all receive the respect and attention they deserve and rightly so.

"1947- The Transfer of Power from One Set of Crooks to Another Set of Crooks." - Abhijit Chavda

True. As I have read in our ICSE history text books of the late 20th, early 21st century, which quoted such hilarious one liners from British bureaucrats of the 19th century, we will (hopefully) see the same repeat in our history textbooks of the late 21st century.

I come from a gorkha community. A few of my senior relatives, one of them being my own fatherwho was in the British army as a cook, used to tell stories of gorkha armymen who switched to INA from British army in the battle field itself in the border areas of Arunachal, Nagaland just because that at the other end fighting with them were the Gorkhas themselves. May be to avoid fratricide and also by conscience that they should be fighting the foreigners not their own brethren. The contribution of Gorkhas in the INA is just overlooked when it comes toremembering INA and Subhas.
