6:42 Last year, a live concert took place at the "Maidan Nezalezhnosti" underground metro station. In Vidbir-2023 video you could even hear the sounds of trains with passengers, although trains have not stopped at this station since the beginning of the war on February 24 (because this station is located under the government quarter). The selection live took place on December 17, 2022. Only after that, on December 20, 2022, the station was returned to passenger traffic. Therefore, Vidbir could not be held there again this year.
But there are no any concert bomb shelters in Kyiv. Hardly anywhere in the world someone built concert halls underground. Therefore, it was necessary to hold a concert above ground. And it is impossible to conduct a live broadcast in the conditions of war. Not only because of the security problem of shelling (which is why the europeans did not want to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023 in Ukraine). There are even formal restrictions. As soon as fighter plane with ballistic weapons take off in Russia, an air alert is declared in Ukraine and many things stop automatically: movies in cinemas are turned off, bank branches are closed, doctors stop consulting patients, concerts are stopped. It could disrupted the live broadcast on Saturday.
Therefore, they decided to record the live broadcast: to record the concert on Friday, and in the case of an air alarm on Friday, cut out these conditional 1.5 hours, when everyone must go down to the shelter, and show a complete video on Saturday. After it the vote should had be announced in real time. And counting of votes would already be done online from a small bomb shelter.
It was not publicly announced that Vidbir show was secretly moved back on one day. The audience in the concert hall now said that everyone who was at the Vidbir on Friday signed a non-disclosure agreement, which prohibited them from announcing the location of the Vidbir until the end of the recording. But this was already done because not only of the threat of disrupting the recording, but in order to reduce war risks to zero, because a ballistic missile from Russia flies to Kyiv in 5 minutes. And national broadcaster didn't want to check whether the fucking Russians will want to do something very Russian that day.

This year the performances were filmed not in the underground, but they were actually filmed the day before the official broadcast for the sake of security and to make it actually possible to shoot everything in one sitting in case of an air alarm. However, the results show was broadcast live from the shelter yesterday, but the voting app broke down, so the voting was completed and announced today, also live.

I’m from Kyiv, the stage is still underground because you need a permanent shelter to organise such events. The reason is that missiles attack can startling any time, like today morning we were attacked and some civilians injured.

I'm Ukrainian. And for me this song is very meaning. When the war started, I prayed a lot, I asked Virgin Mary to protect us from the rockets and bombs, to defence the sky. I know that Virgin Mary appears in different places of the world, and I believe, that in Ukraine she helps too. This song like a prayer for me, strong and powerful, and I'm sure that God will help Ukrainians to drive out enemies and establish justice.

It was Jerry Heil`s third attempt and she succeeded)
By the way this year so much Ukrainians tried to vote through our government app, that it crashed (there were more than 15k users per second that tried to vote) It was weird, but Ukrainians created a lot of memes in X))
And Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil won with more than 700k votes, for instance second place received around 100k, so they were huge.
This year the show was recorded not in the underground but in a really small hall (not a classic concert hall). It was recorded media-secretly a day before broadcasting, the attendants were asked not to post anything during the shooting (rules of war safety measures)
