Kotcha kinda messed up that last round, thats why Frosty paused for a bit so he can get in sync with D-Low but it didn’t work. And yes Kotcha freestyled that yodelling part just to counter Uniteam’s yodelling. If you guys are looking for some more tag team matches I’d suggest K-Pom vs Kotcha GBB 2018. Its Napom & Kenny Urban vs D-Low & Frosty again
*Trying again with a revised edit of this* General Information about the Grand Beatbox Battle. There are 3 rounds of battles, quarter finals, semi finals, and then small and grand final. Each solo battle consists of 2 times 90 seconds for each beatboxer with the possibility for the judges to allow for overtime if the decision is drawed. There usually are somewhere around 14 spots in the GBB, to qualify for one of them, you need to submit a wildcard video and be amongst the 10 best or place top 4 in the previous year. The upcoming gbb2020 had over 200 wildcards submitted. To make it to the battles you have to get through the elimation round. About half of the people who qualify for the event are eliminated here. It is the norm in the beatbox world to take a break, sometimes as a judge, when you win the competition. Previous GBB winners 2019 D-low 2018 Codfish 2017 NAPOM 2016 Kenny Urban (shirtless guy) 2015 Gene 2014 Dharni again 2013 Dharni (Judge and organizer of beatbox camp one of the biggest annual beatbox events)
There is actually a page that lists all of the previous winners. It's kind of hard to find though. In 2009 and 2010, Marzel won. Skiller won in 2011, and Ball-Zee in 2012.
@@TheToastedTurkey Right I should probably have researched a bit to refresh my memory. I just wanted this comment to get out fast, so it had the chance to be seen.
Brilliant reaction guys, as always!! Next HYPE station: MB14&Saro Loopstation Artist Week!! This is on the next lvl, two legendary beatboxers together!
in the kotcha's overtime round they failed to do their routine named "We got flow", that's the cause of their lost (for me) , but u can check this video ruclips.net/video/zn9JF9RmIUg/видео.html where they do it properly at 1:24 minutes anyway nice reaction :P
pleas react to: *inertia smoke bullets* , it's sickkk (inertia is like audical in terms of beatbox style, if you liked audical in the gbb solo wild card 2020, you will love inertia)
Most of the material you'll hear in any big international beatbox battle is highly rehearsed, cause if you want to win a competition you have to create routines with your best material whether you're competing solo or tagteam. But from time to time beatboxers might throw in a little bit of freestyle, cause most professional beatboxers have a lot of experience doing collab freestyle especially with their tagteam partner.
Of course they rehearse , they have these tracks called routines and they perform it live on battles or showcases but sometimes they answer to the opponents beat to "show off" . Kotcha did it twice this battle (2nd round and overtime round)
The yodeling rebuttal was on the spot, then d low went into an old anti drop yodeling routine from 2018 and frosty naturally picked up the rest. So yeah, unplanned :)
Where dlow and frosty did the same routine as uniteam, beatboxers do that sometimes in battle to show the opponent he or she can do it as well, kinda making the routine that the opponent used not as effective since the other person can do it as well. Beatboxers also do it sometimes to show that he or she can do the opponents’ routine better like maybe with a better technique or a certain sound that sounds better for it. When they do this counter it is all on the spot.
They all come prepared with routines. But usually if they get an idea on the spot for a rebuttal, they whisper to the other (do the bass, i do this, bla bla) to do a little bit of a rebuttal in the beginning, then proceed to go back to their routines after they make a point
Like any form of art it takes time to master it and I watched this one interview with Saro and he said he trained around 5 to 6 hours a day for World champs so def practice makes the master
The point of a battle is one team to counter the other nothing is rigged and they dont practice their battles before the show everything they did to counter was thought and executed in real time and the whispering between teammates is in order for them to decide how to counter the beat of the other team. Ur welcome :)
