Nice VIP berth. Gosh, it’s so large ! You have storage galore. I love the clam shaped sinks but can see some people swapping them out. Having a shower in this berth is really super. Plenty of space and privacy to wash up and be comfortable for quests or the kids. The chester draws in aft berth with counter tops are a nice surprise. I can see someone living on this boat full time. Having two heads with sinks and showers sure is convenient. If you are like most people, having some privacy is welcome. The salon is also a great area for meals and social time. The fold out couch sure is super. Chad, just a great boat. Enjoying the videos. Thank you.
What a vessel, man. I can see where the comfort factor is off the chart coming from a 30’ Regal, or any of the pocket cruisers. It’s just a bit more boat than I’d want. I love the classic Chris Craft styling and quality, though. I’d like to find a nice, well kept 1970’s era 25’ Catalina. It’s mostly just gonna be me and my wife on weekends, and won’t be doing a lot of entertaining, so it makes sense for us. A v-berth, galley, dinette and wet head in the cabin and a Bimini over the cockpit and I think we’ll be happy.
Yeah, I just love them. I spend time on the Gulf of Mexico, but I live in Tennessee and that’s where the boat would be kept. I really want a Catalina that has spent its life in fresh water, so I may have to find one in the Great Lakes area. Sure hard to find one down south that hasn’t been in salt.
Holy Crap. I can't believe your good find. I just missed out on an opportunity 2 weeks ago to buy a 1980 381 Catalina. I didn't know much about them yet, but, I'll be honest, the one I could have bought was even nicer than yours, and yours appears to be in excellent condition. Now I want one just as bad. To think I spent more on a 2000 Chaparral 285 SSi compared to one of these..... The good news is however that all your videos are doing their part to convince my wife/kids that this is our next boat, so, Thank you for these videos.
@@WiscoBoater Hey good news! We found a 1975 350 Catalina and bought it. Not as big as the 381, but, same general feel. It's actualy 35' as well, vs. the 381 which is really 41'. That was a deal breaker with my wife. Keep doing your videos. I'm super excited about doing this old Chris Craft cruising thing next season, and your videos are a great way to see what others are doing. Love your videos. So much so, we are looking at one of the boats you past on. Looking for the retirement boat and one to do the Great Loop on. Would be interested in your thoughts on why you past on it. "Ursa Major" Dave
I actually had an offer in on Ursa Major...nice boat, just needed a good clean up. I made the offer knowing that the broker was on vacation. That week when he was away, I thought I'd hear from someone else at that brokerage...while waiting, I was contacted by the owners of Thirsty Whale, and I ended up retracting the offer on Ursa Major after looking at the Whale. Ursa Major would make a great boat in my opinion. A little updating and cleanup, she's a good boat!
Hi! Beautiful boat, congratulations! For the countertops in the heads, I think they’re fine but I can see what you mean about being dated. How about a new epoxy paint finish. The right artist could do something very tasteful and attractive with that surface. Anyway, happy cruising! Go Bears!! Lol Steve
LOL!! Go Pack Go! Thanks Steve...check out the updated stateroom and galley vids if you haven't yet...big changes made over the last year, with more to come! The galley countertop is scheduled for this off season.
What size and model Verlo mattress fits in the aft cabin mattress frame? I wonder if it is a 72 inch wide CA King or standard king? Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work.
I can measure it this weekend when I'm up there...it isn't a standard size or shape, but I can get the overall and then what size a regular square mattress it could use.
Okay, I can measure my own as well. I was hoping there was a manufacturer who already had a template for both mattresses-- or that it fit a standard mattress. If you find that it is a particular production model mattress, do publish it here. I am sure I am not the only one who needs to replace one. Fair winds and following seas.

Thanks Charles!! It is pretty perfect!
Absolutely beautiful!
That is a great boat for a long trip or a nice staycation. Really cannot wait to see more.
Thanks! Exactly what we bought it for...

The hatch in the forward stateroom the very bottom hatch is a bilge pump
