  • In this video I show the best way to clean tough stains out of white quartz countertops. I have had trouble in the past removing all types of nasty spots in this material. The Acetone and Soft Scrub mixture works wonders.
    Side Notes:
    1. I have been cleaning this way for 5 years now and haven't ruined a Quartz countertop. Not saying it's not possible to damage to quartz. Just saying from the hundreds I've cleaned, I haven't damaged one yet. Always a chance I guess.
    2. I'm not a chemist. Which means, I do not know the effects of mixing acetone and soft scrub. Just wear some gloves and keep the room well ventilated. Please.

Dude this video saved the day. My girlfriend was on the floor in a ball of tears after the dogs ear medics stained the rams new white quartz countertop. I remained calm and found your video. This worked like a champ. Thanks!

Awesome. Glad to hear, said the dog. Sorry. I have some really bad dad jokes in the arsenal.
I appreciate it and I'm happy I could help.

I thought harsh chemicals were a no-no for quartz?

    What a hero!
I put some packaging from take out when writing in sharpie. As I lifted it off, the sharpie was imprinted in the quartz top 😭
Will give this a go, thanks!

I'm impressed! I have some unexpected bacon grease stains by the side of my stove leaving what looks like a shadow dark stain (grease container got a little messy and left) :( Do you think that this method would work well on that kind of staining? My countertops are not pure white but resemble very close to the choice piece in the video. Thanks, hoping I can recover mine.

Hi Lisa. I have clean all types of Quartz this way. With really good results. Just make sure that you do for sure have Engineered Quartz Countertops. This process will definitely etch some granites. And will for sure etch soft marbles and soapstone. It's not because of the acetone, but from the soft scrub. Soft scrub has ultra fine particles that are softer than Quartz but harder than some granites and marbles. And for the grease, go heavy with the acetone. If that doesn't work try denatured alcohol. Hope this helps and let me know the results. Thanks for watching.

I placed round wood on my quartz counter and water underneath the wood caused some stain.. I tried to remove with baking soda and it didn’t work .. this satin is making me crazy.. does this hack help? Actually it is not even stain but some discoloration

This method will help. If It's engineered quartz. Start light and work your way up. Try just water and some soft scrub first. For tough sharpie stains I use acetone and then soft scrub with a magic eraser. Let me know how it goes.

Hello, I got a stain on my quarts countertop from using a pressure cooker. We cooked for about 3 hours and when we removed the pressure cooker we noticed a visible “dark” circle silhouette of the pressure cooker, almost like a shadow. Would the soft scrub help remove the shadow?

It's worth a shot. The only issue with engineered quartz is when it gets too hot, it turns a slight yellow color. This yellowing is caused when the epoxy that is mixed with the quartz burns or over heats. They say that man made quartz is 80 - 90 percent natural quartz stone. The other percentage is epoxy. The natural quartz is hard to damage. But on the other hand, the epoxy is easy to alter. And heat is its biggest enemy. That's why I say to go ahead and give it a shot. You can't hurt it more. But if it is a burn, I have still yet to successfully repair a burn mark in quartz. If cleaning doesn't work, Your looking at either getting a new piece or keeping that pressure cooker in that same spot. Sorry, but I hope the cleaning works for you. Let me know how it goes.

The Acetone and Soft Scrub are exactly what so many owners have claimed caused a dull spot on their quartz, which looks pretty bad when light hits it and you've got a shiny surface everywhere except for the spots you cleaned. Soft Scrub is an abrasive cleaner, after all. Google it.

This works, does anyone know if the countertop needs to be "sealed" with some product after this? If so what would the product be ?

    • @GraniteByJay
      @GraniteByJay  Год назад +1

Thanks for watching. And if you are cleaning Engineered Quartz, it will not need to be sealed after.
Engineered Quartz is non-porous and does not need to be sealed.
      Hope this helps. Thanks again.
