    This was exactly the answer to the question I had just asked myself. I placed an object in a room setting and it looks unnatural only because there are no shadows. Awesome. Thank you!!

    Hello Jan, thank you for the exact explanation how a shadow is generated. Even though I have often created shadows due to the frequent redesigning of the contents of your tutorials, I always find new information. I like it very much, that you try to teach us the different ways how to do something. So that everyone can decide for her/himself which way she/he goes finally. Have a nice weekend. XXX Amy

      Wel hello there, Amy Russell😃. So nice to read your posted comment!! Thank you. So many different ways in Gimp, to do so many different things. We never have to get bored haha.😂 I on my turn like it very much when fellow Gimpers follow the tuts and then do their own thing, in their own way. I like to think that I provide sort of a framework, from which one can deviate as one prefers. I have just taken a look at all your 'Gimpwork' .... it';s fantastic ❗️ ❗️ ❗️ Thanks you again and you to, enjoy the weekend. XXX Jan.

    • @gimpworkshop9729
      @gimpworkshop9729  5 лет назад +1

      Salam Nezar😄 It is to be expected, that there is a subtle darkening, escpecially on the edges where the sharpening is applied. But it should not be very much... When you go to colors, brightness and contrast, you can make the whole image a bit brighter. Best regards, Jan.

      For those who got stuck on this like me, you have to hold down shift when pulling the shadow down and it will keep the image from facing the wrong way.
