- In this zerospace casted game we cover the grand finals of the tournament hosted by zerospace.gg.
The tournament featured a really interesting format where placed were drawn both random factions and random zerospace heroes for each game.

Mercenaries spicing up mirror matches is something I didn’t even think about. This game might be it. Fingers crossed. A campaign and good coop will hopefully put this game in a good starting place. Everything else will fall into place if they can deliver those two imo.

I really like how much easier it is to tell what's happening. The generally slower move speed combined with how the units really telegraph which direction they're facing is very nice.
still dont see a big difference in mirror matches. Units should be color coded better, its hard to tell whos winning at times

@@FarmManOfficial-Zerospace When do yall plan to open back up trials for it? because man start a pre order that's an open beta alpha which ever phase you are in I want more hours on it this is the best RTS since dawn of war PERIOD.

This is my most anticipated new RTS game, followed by Tempest Rising.
I'll still keep any eye out on ongoing incremental improvements with Godsworn (very underrated rts made by just 2 developers!) & Stormgate. but until they release SG's campaign in a decent state, it'll be in my rearview

Yeah what I've seen of Stormgates campaign so far is... they've got a long way to go let's just say that
I just realized there was a play test on a last day and I played just for 6 hours :( I already want to play more, because it is just a fun good game. It has some problems but for sure they will polish these and we will get amazing RTS :)
Yeah definitely, there's tonnes to be improved but that's to be expected. I'm super optimistic though because there's so much already that's so good with the fundamentals. Great to have ya here!

The graphics look better and better now. Tried the demo weekend, quite a lot of potential here but I think full release is still a long ways off
imagine a brood war mod using this engine, it looks amazing
Nah you would absolutely broke the game, bw is tied to it's bad pathfinding and very old school mechanics. That said, there's an SC2 mod for all the brood war campaigns and it's sick.

Game is coming together well it looks like! Gotta play some campaign to get some actual connection to any of these races/civs and to understand the chaos I’m seeing during these matches haha
Definitely! I'm hoping the campaign is really good, if it is, then I think this game has a really good shot at being a success! - not something we've said often about new RTS releases 😂

Zerospace is a big hope for sure, but I've also got my eye on Tempest Dynasty, which seems to really be targeting that old C&C crowd. (me)
Both seem to have a lot of potential and for the first time in what feels like forever RTS has a positive outlook for the future

Like the game. But in game 2 (mirror) it is basically impossible to tell, which unit belongs to which player.
Yeah for sure, 👍 good thing is that its a very easy fix for the devs, I'm sure its coming its just one of those things that missing in an early phase of development.
This was an issue, but I am happy to report it is fixed now and will be very clear in the next playtest. :D

This! 20+ years ago I loved this game called Conquest Frontiers, and I've been wanting a similar type RTS ever since
It's got some potential for sure. But so far it kinda looks like an incoherent patchwork, both visually and gameplay wise. Its still looking promising. As many said, a good campaign could do a lot of work to create a coherent universe.

This game looks already better than stormgate.. I sincerely hope that they listen to the community enough and take their time. Shame that the Steam Free Demo still isn't out although it was promised.. would have liked to try
When is it going on sale？
Think development studio made an offical announcement on their discord page they had to push their original 2025 release date to even later. due to not being able to find a publisher (at time that announcement was made). But playing this after very short but enjoyable 2 day playtest period, I can't see this very promisimg RTS game finding a publisher eventually
As far as the mechanics of heroes don't bother me, but only when they are matched to the faction. As for the mechanics of mercenaries, I am completely against

Bad Vfx, looke like novice made these effects. So bad refraction, and green projectiles and questions to the flames. And when the worm crawls out of the ground, hundreds of sprites appear with smoke, it is unclear why. And of course this is Unreal engine.

Ah yes, let's insult a game by saying it looks like one of the greatest RTS titles of all time.
Stormgate will soon be only a memory. It has failed completely, this looks like a much beefier, proper rts. It is what it is.
