  • Hi!
    No music. No talking. Just work.
    If you are taking your ASUS N53SV laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, just removed and that's it, no screws are holding it. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place. Most of screw holes in this laptop are marked with exact size, so, it should be relatively easy to put back together.
    The front bezel is really easy to break, it is a specific of the material that was used.
    Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
    If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
    Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
    Have fun and good luck!!

    Thank you so much. This video is really helpful. Although I got the difficult part: pull out the cable for touch pad and for power buttons. Putting them back was really pain.

    During assembly, you reconnect the black and white connector (top right) in the wrong place. Very helpful though.

    Hi Regazzz, I would like to ask for some help on resoldering the power jack input... I would not like to take it to parts like in this video which is very very helpful and thank you for putting this up. keep up the good work and don´t stop what you are doing. - I would need help on the power jack input. can I get to it when taking off the keyboard? - any help would be great. thanks.

      In this laptop you can simply replace a DC Jack. Realtively easy. It is like a DC Jack and wifi port. This way or another one, you would need to remove a keyboard and the palmrest to gain access to DC Jack.

    Just curious, was the NTB dead already, that you did not reapply thermal paste on CPU and GPU ?

    I know this is an old vlog but perhaps vlogger still remembers this computer and this vlog...i did every step as recommended and replaced dc jack and board and new charging unit..initially there was smoke coming out of dc jack when i plugged it in and then ofcourse it went dead. Anyway i was really expecting it to work..the battery light is on but it wont power on. Could you suggest other issues perhaps? Also at this point im more worried of salvaging contents of my internal drive, how do i do this?

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  Год назад

      To salvage the information from the drive is relatively easy.
      Buy an external SATA to USB connector, plug in to another computer and find your data.
      Be careful with the hard drive.

    Thanks for the video, I am probably dumb in asking you this- the fan seems to be make notice able sound when the laptop runs for quite some time, how do I clean it without disassembling the laptop. I have asus n53sv-dh51. Do I use a vacuum cleaner in the side fan grill to suck out the dust? Its more than 6 years old now but going steady.

    • @bigbadsteven
      @bigbadsteven 2 года назад +1

      You could use an air duster (canned pressurized air, from hardware or electronics shop), but it will make the fan blades spin and generate voltage, which could potentially damage electronic components, and also does a lousy job. There isn't a way to clean the fan at all well without disassembly. If you're not confident, hire a pro or quality neighborhood geek.

      +Alexis David Villegas Torres Hey, thank you so much for your support! I think this model is sold out or discontinued. This is SKIL 2364-02 7.2-Volt Lithium-Ion Drill/Driver.

      +regazzz thanks for your quick replay. One more thing! Do the screwdriver had the set of tips for repairing those kind of devices? I mean most of the time when I saw those screwdrivers I always saw them with large tips not suitable for laptop repairing! and please keep doing this kind of videos it help a lot! greetings from Costa Rica! ^_^

      +Alexis David Villegas Torres bits should be purchased separately. This I can't recall the name, but they are unusual thin. In the past people were using some thin screwdrivers, by breaking a handle. I need to clean up in my place and maybe. I will find a box with the name.

      @regazzz  Год назад

      Not sure what is scary in it but if taking it apart be careful about plastic parts, they can be very fragile.

    im about to clean this laptop but im really afraid im going to break a front plastic panel it looks really fragile

    • @bigbadsteven
      @bigbadsteven 2 года назад

      It IS, removing mine left multiple shards of broken plastic, and it consequently would not reassemble properly afterwards. And the *mounting* lugs were also damaged in removal, so I'm having to tape the replacement in place. NOT great serviceability, Asus!!! It's called a screen bezel, but they are no longer available anywhere in the world that I can find. And the one I bought a couple of years ago is crappy, it's out of spec by a couple of mm, leaving gaps that I'm having to full with glue! So in 2022+, *don't* disassemble the top portion at all, if it must be serviced, buy an old N53 and replace the top portion as an entire unit.

      Does your laptop powers on and if you plugin an external monitor - everything works?
