Fuji has some great things - but where they fail is in my mind - the 16-55mm F2.8 lens with NO IS - what are they thinking - also the aperture rings on the faster primes is way way way to loose and easy to change accidentally - I also would like to see Playback button on right hand side - but one can re-map it to say AEL - Also the Bokeh from the 40-150mm F2.8 is sub par - not nice enough for weddings - and now seems Fuji is abandoning faster primes - only making F2.0 primes :( they need to re-work the faster once to be WR and faster focusing and more quiet -
Just watched this again as I re-orient myself to the X-T2. Tony's video is focused on what you need to do to get up and running with this camera and how to take advantage of its strongest features. Clear and concise.
I don't think anyone should ever be unhappy with your Reviews they are thorough and straight to the point , nice . I have been watching You for a few years now and You are quite good , take care .
This video literally changed my life haha! We love shooting on our Fuji cameras, and this was by far the most in depth and easy to understand tutorial I've found. Thanks a bunch!
There is more than one reason why this channel is so popular among photographers and photo lovers. One of them is what is happening in this series of videos. Did I mention, For Free?
Having used nikon for 4 decades i decided to shift to fuji xt2 completely as weight has become a number one issue, I was confused with all the technology but this video tutorial just made it extremely easy to navigate and enjoy the XT 2 to its fullest!!! Thank you for this and more power to you!!!
WAIT!!!! WAIT!!! Did I just see the absolute best training video on this camera on youtube?? Yes, If you are considering buying this system as I am, take the time to watch every second of this video. Tony has produced a totally professional video here. I will now make this channel one of my all time favorites! Clearly explained in every aspect of this system. I am a commercial shooter by trade but have been asked to travel out of the US to shoot a few weddings,so, Im considering buying this system to save space. This video convinced me to buy what I need. I WILL BUY VIA THEIR SITE TO HELP THEM OUT! Also, we never stop learning... Ive been shooting for 46 years professionally... Did I just say 46? damn Im old.. and I still try to learn something every day. Im also going to consider their books. Thanks Tony. Haven't seen Chelsea yet but I suspect she will make an appearance in other videos. Great Video! absolutely great! New subscriber and I RANG THE BELL!
Tony, you are the master tutor in this format. I have the XT-1 and watching this video I have learned (and practiced along with you) the majority of the functions and techniques where the two cameras are similar. I now want to use many more functions that I never fully understood before to improve my photography, inc bracketing, auto ISO, etc. Thank you for the time and effort you put into these projects. They are so helpful to us aspiring amateurs. Your presentation style is brilliant, non-patronising and expertly paced.
I bought my X-T2 last week and this tutorial has been a tremendous help! Great video that covers the most important aspects of this camera and it sure beats reading a +300 pages PDF... :D
Liked even before I watched! Just got myself one, for $600 and I LOVE your channel. I will be buying the Photography and Lightroom tutorial for sure. Tony I like your approach, and this video is already saved to my favorites!
Fantastic help, thank you. I bought this camera some years ago, couldn’t figure out how to use it properly and ignored it - relying on my other cameras. This has helped me and I will now take the camera with me on an upcoming trip.
Quick tip change the bracketing button on the front to playback and you can fully operate the camera with one hand and chimp with while looking through the viewfinder. It's a huge quality of life improvement 🙂
Super helpful way to get me started with my new XT-2 I do much better with quickly learning via video than reading through the manual (which I will still go through). Thank you!
Thanks a lot for this free tutorial!! I just got my Fuji a week ago and seeing this video has saved me a lot of time researching how to do specific things, you have covered pretty much everything. I'm still in shock with the fact that you can take pictures in completely silence with the electronic shutter option. I'll keep an eye on your profiles from now on. Thank you!
Its actually cool to watch along with this video and see all the little things fuji has updated on this camera with firmware. Not many other camera companies service their older cameras that way. F-Log internal is great to have!
Suddenly happy that I spent so much time with vintage film cameras before switching to Fuji digital! I love how they use the exact same physical controls as my 1960s/70s film SLRs.
Just received my X-T2 today and I really appreciate this tutorial. I will eventually read the manual, but this was a great run down of the settings and features used most often. Thanks Again!!
Your channel and videos have been a wondrous discovery to me. I am a COMPLETE noob to digital photography..after weeks of endless research reading articles and watching videos on different cameras which only served to confuse me further, I finally made the decision to take the plunge and purchase the xt2 as my first SLR type camera (no half measures for me when buying things lol!) I didn't want to start with a more mediocre option and find myself wanting more out of my camera after some time. I've just been watching your videos for the last couple of hours and now stumbled upon this one! Your videos are extremely clear and informative on the many different aspects of photography and have helped me make a start in understanding this wondrously complex art. A massive thank you from a fledgling amateur taking his first steps into the world of digital photography :)
Thank you for all the work you put into making this video. Extremely helpful even years later. I always recommend your channel to my friends and family when they have questions. Thanks again and I am always using the links whenever I'm buying new gear.
I subscribed simply based on how organized your youtube page is. You have a freaking Table of Contents! And from the little I've watched thus far, you are very clear with your tutorial and are looking out for all levels of photographer/filmmakers.. I'm mostly impressed because i've seen enough other video reviews to know this one is good. Ok i'll stop before i sound too much like the big fan of this review that i'm turning into.
Thank you for an outstanding video with very clear instructions. I know that they are about to come out with the XT-4 but I think the XT-2 does enough for me and your video helped me make that decision. Thanks again for a no-nonsense video
Bought my x2 a couple of months ago and I go immediately to you for tutorials. So very helpful! Thank you.

This is super useful for a switcher. I shot the 5D classic for almost a decade and while I know how to take photos, my old dinosaur camera didn't have even 1% of all these new features and settings on the X-T2.
Just upgraded to X-T2 and this video is still relevant and extremely helpful (2019). Very clear and precise. One and a half hour tutorial for free is amazing. X-T2 is an awesome camera but remember to upgrade the firmware.
I rarely write comments but this video was so useful and will be following some of your other materials now. I've been playing with the camera for a couple of months but this video really helped me to understand it. Excited to get back out and snap some pictures. Thank you again Tony.
Thanks for the really useful tutorial. This was my first week-end getting acquainted with the X-T2 and your detailed overview allowed me to get a great all around understanding of the features!
Thank you again Tony. Out of everyone on you tube, I trust and appreciate your through covering of our cameras out here. I left Canon for Fuji again. It helps that you have gone thru the X-2, and the jump too list under more, is great to keep revisiting. I want to get the most out of my camera the Q and My Menu are a nice addition. I had many of my Q and MyList jump too links the same, I corrected that. Thank you and Chelsea for all you do for us out here.
Fantastic that you guys put this much time into a free tutorial Tony. I'm still waiting on my XT2 to arrive, its great to get all this education on the camera explained so well while I'm waiting. Surfing the Amazon site now to skim your books so I can thank you with a purchase.
Wow man!!! Great content! Have had the Xt2 for a month, love it. Your video helped reinforce some things I knew and I certainly gained a lot of new useful information. When I first saw the video was 1.5 hours, didn't think there was any chance I'd watch the entire time- but did. Very nice, thanks and did pick up a couple of your books. I'll be back for more. Also, I'm addicted to the Fujifilm system.
Thank you very much. Its like attending a real classroom. Verry good quality video and sound so clear. Once again thank you for sharing your knowledge.
One of the best instructional videos I have seen. They are so good, I just ordered two of his books. I am having one problem with my XT-2, I can't get to the MY menu. It is grayed out.
Got the camera, came home and got the youtube push message which alerted me to your video, so learned it with your tutorial, perfect timing thnx for that. I noted that in the part aperture priority there is a cut where the just assigned auto shutter dial changes to the T setting. That confused me. I couldn't get it to work and later realised i had to set it to auto and change the lens setting to manual. Again thnx for the perfectly timed video!
Thank you! Great video. I just got the camera two months ago and as expected I was overwhelmed. It's a great camera. I am buying the Lightroom and Digital Photography books. Very nice presentation. Thanks again.
Thank you - Great teaching style - I have just purchased this camera - my main camera is a Canon 7d mii - this is so different!! You have given me the confidence and knowledge to give is a good go now! Well done!
Quick comment: the back dial defaults to shutter speed and the front dial to aperture (or exposure compensation, or both). At 9:50 you have these reversed. The back dial is also how you do fractional stops of shutter speed, so it might be worth a note.
Thanks. T-2 arrived yesterday. Probably a lot less than what everybody paid 4 years ago. Considering using electronic shutter and keeping one lens on it to lengthen it's time on earth. And no bursts.
Outstanding overview, Tony. Very easy to follow along with the X-T2 (and battery grip). Longmont, Colorado appreciates you! Now on to your books/videos. Thanks so much.
Great video! To the point and covered all of the essentials. After discovering the new X-T3 is made in China, I opted to purchase the soon to be discontinued X-T2. Looks like a great system that I'll have for years to come. Many thanks!
I never comment but I watched this through. I needed to watch a good tutorial after purchasing my XT2 last week and this was very informative. Thanks for the quality walk though.
Ahh nice to finally see the ability to include histogram AND electronic level in the display simultaneously. Hate that my a6300 cant, which is a real pain.
Finally a comprehensive and good quality video! I got my XT2 yesterday and was getting so frustrated not being able to find any useful information on how to use all those crazy buttons. Coming from Canon, this is going to be a lot of learning for me but thanks to Tony there is a little bit less anxiety now...
Thank you very much for this brilliant tutorial! It really covers everything one needs to start and I got much faster familiar with this camera, than by just studying the manual!
Thank you Tony for these videos! I encourage photographers watch these as you can pick up tips even you might think you know how to operate cameras. Coming from film cameras, I pretty much always shot a frame at a time. While watching one of Tony's Canon tutorials, picked up the technique of shooting in continuous and burst mode. This changed my life, I'm getting so many more keepers now without people's eyes closed.
Great tutorial! BBF or back button focus. The dedicated buttons are too small for my fingers. I tried the top button above the OK or menu button....and settled on the Ft button. Works great
Thank you so much for the fabulous tutorial, well presented and easy to follow. I listened to some parts of it twice and now feel confident to start using my new digital camera and finding all the different settings. I love the film simulations component of the Fujifilm camera and the fact that there are some "real" dials which look like the ones on my very old Nikon film camera! Will be ready your "Stunning Photography" next!
This is THE most informative video on the xt2 I have seen, I was totally engrossed as every single option on this camera was explained, absolutely fantastic, thank you. 😁👍
Enjoyed the video...I have had the X-T2 (with grip) since launch day...shooting the 16, 90, and 16-55mm...I have gone back and forth with back focus. As a Canon user I always used it...but find it's not back to just use joystick and shutter button on X-T2...one reason might be that he smaller form factor of the X-T2 makes the AF-L too close to shutter and the AE-L to far away from my big hands...also I love having the grip as for large hands the X-T2 just feels more secure with the grip..but your right it does add weight and makes taking a small camera bag impossible as the grip makes the camera not fit in small mirrorless bags unless you take the grip off.
I'm thinking about buying this camera and just watched the entire video... I just want to say that you have a very good and pleasing style of teaching and I really enjoyed watching. I'm now going to look for some more material from you :) thanks
Thanks Tony for the great video! I am buying this camera soon and this video will be a perfect resource for learning every thing I will need to know about this camera. You and Chelsea are the best and love the books too!!
I loved the format of this tutorial. You seemed to have moved away from this? I was going to sell my camera out of frustration with the fujifilm interface. I now réalise it’s probably the best one. Thanks
I agree with the many compliments: Thank you for your amazing tutorial. I have at last been able to afford a decent camera and am on a steep learning curve. You have been and are a great help. I spent hours looking thru youtube tutorials on the XT2 ... YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY TOPS!!!! and I remarked on that to the Facebook page of Fuji. Thank you. Best regards. Tina from South Africa :-)
Great video. I can only imagine how much work goes into making a video like this, and trying to get all the facts straight for so many different cameras. Thanks!
I really enjoyed this video. I just bought my own XT-2. This is the first 'real' digital camera I have purchased. I love the manual controls...even if all the settings are a little overwhelming.
All Fujifilm lenses do not have an aperture ring. That is also true for that pancake lense (XF27). The unmarked ring you referred to around 6:40 is the focus ring not the aperture.
When you talk about about F-Stop, you mention high f stop (pointing to the blurred background 1.8f stop) then point to hight F-Stop pf F-22 and again mention high f stop and how the background is in focus. Best, George
Using the plus or minus dial in Auto for exposure compensation, it will be interesting to look at the dsp to see just what is changing. F stop, ISO, or speed.

also the aperture rings on the faster primes is way way way to loose and easy to change accidentally -
I also would like to see Playback button on right hand side - but one can re-map it to say AEL -
Also the Bokeh from the 40-150mm F2.8 is sub par - not nice enough for weddings -
and now seems Fuji is abandoning faster primes - only making F2.0 primes :( they need to re-work the faster once to be WR and faster focusing and more quiet -

Yes, I agree. And in 2019 on the roadmap for release, the 16-80!

I just bought an X-T2 and this video has been tremendously useful. Many thanks for this exceptionally informational tutorial!
Videos like this are what makes the internet great! Thank you for helping me understand how to use my new X-T2.
Your tutorial inspired me a lot. I purchased few books already and found it very helpful. Can't thank you enough.

Thanks Tony for the Video having moved from Nikon after many years to Fuji this has been a big help in getting my head around the Fuji

Tony gotta thank you. First I learned a lot about my D810, now that I am planning of getting XT2 you were very helpful as well!! Thank you much!
Wow man!!! Great content! Have had the Xt2 for a month, love it. Your video helped reinforce some things I knew and I certainly gained a lot of new useful information. Bravo! An excellent introduction to the X-T2. I watched it three times and took notes each time. Thank you so much!
Thank you very much. Its like attending a real classroom. Verry good quality video and sound so clear.
Once again thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Havent long picked up an xt2. This video is now my bible.....cheers
Such a great teacher. Thanks for helping with my new to me street camera.
Awesome video summarising key functionality. So much better than death by the manual. Thanks!
One of the best instructional videos I have seen. They are so good, I just ordered two of his books. I am having one problem with my XT-2, I can't get to the MY menu. It is grayed out.
I am a bit late in this but I just bought an XT2 and the video information is invaluable! Thank you!
Thank you. This video has helped me to understand how to best use this camera and fall in love with it.
Just got my Fuji X-T2. Thank you for this awesome tutorial, Tony. This channel is the best!
Thanks Tony! Just bought the X-T2 yesterday and your video really helped with things I didn't even know about.
Glad to help!
Thanks, great tutorial. Just got my X-T2 and learned a lot by watching your video.
I never comment but I watched this through. I needed to watch a good tutorial
after purchasing my XT2 last week and this was very informative. Thanks for
the quality walk though.
Thank you. You people make this world a beautiful Place.
Love your presentations Tony!! In depth and totally pro. Thank you!!!
Ahh nice to finally see the ability to include histogram AND electronic level in the display simultaneously. Hate that my a6300 cant, which is a real pain.
Highly informative and easily accessible to the novice.
Fantastic video. I learned do much and not feeling stressed about my new camera. I will be investing in your books.
Very good tutorial to get you going with the camera. Watchable as well - bonus. Well done and thanks.
This tutorial worked great with my Fuji X-100F because the menus and buttons are so similar.
Thanks Tony, I just got this camera (with a Japanese manual). Your video has really helped me get up and running.
This changed my life, I'm getting so many more keepers now without people's eyes closed.
very nice review -----well done production values, personality, intelligence, organization - the whole thing -----
Excellent video Tony, thank you very much for your time to share this, appreciated 👍
Great tutorial! BBF or back button focus. The dedicated buttons are too small for my fingers. I tried the top button above the OK or menu button....and settled on the Ft button. Works great
I'd love to see a Fuji X-T4 tutorial, Tony!
Thank you for making yet another very informative tutorial!
I just got my Xt2, thanks for this video really helpful
Thank you so much Tony for this very interesting fuji xt2 lesson. A big fan from Belgium.
This is THE most informative video on the xt2 I have seen, I was totally engrossed as every single option on this camera was explained, absolutely fantastic, thank you. 😁👍
Enjoyed the video...I have had the X-T2 (with grip) since launch day...shooting the 16, 90, and 16-55mm...I have gone back and forth with back focus. excellent and neat and clear and complet prentation and didactic tutoriel of XT2. thanks and congratulations!!
I'm thinking about buying this camera and just watched the entire video... I just want to say that you have a very good and pleasing style of teaching and I really enjoyed watching. I'm now going to look for some more material from you :) thanks
I have used the wasabi brand batteries for the last three years on my XT-1 and have not had one die but YMMV.
thanks for this! i just got an xt2 today and can't wait to shoot!
Thanks Tony for the great video! I am buying this camera soon and this video will be a perfect resource for learning every thing I will need to know about this camera. You and Chelsea are the best and love the books too!!
tony is the best tutorial for camera's always find his videos very so intresting . xt2 owner
I loved the format of this tutorial. You seemed to have moved away from this? I was going to sell my camera out of frustration with the fujifilm interface. I now réalise it’s probably the best one. Thanks
Thank you for the effort to put this together
Thanks for the very informative video. It will help when choosing between the X-T2 and the X-T20
This was immensely helpful and super well done! thanks a lot!
Hugely informative! Thank you for the time and effort you put into this video.
Thanks for a great video. So much easier than ploughing through the manual.
Great video. I can only imagine how much work goes into making a video like this, and trying to get all the facts straight for so many different cameras. Thanks!
I really enjoyed this video. I just bought my own XT-2. This is the first 'real' digital camera I have purchased. I love the manual controls...even if all the settings are a little overwhelming.
the best tutorial i've ever seen!! Thank you so much!! I know more about my X-T2 now!!!
Best,
George
Using the plus or minus dial in Auto for exposure compensation, it will be interesting to look at the dsp to see just what is changing. F stop, ISO, or speed.
Thank you so much. I upgraded my xt1 to a xt2 this week and you tutorial makes me get used to it real quick
Thank you for this incredibly useful and detailed tutorial! Greetings from germany!
