Went out for haddock on Stellwagen for the first time last year. The first couple of spots were slow, so we made a move and it was nonstop action until the end of the trip. Multiple double-headers of haddock, a couple of throwback cod (we went in July, when cod was closed), and even a silver hake. Definitely going again this year. I might go Memorial Day weekend and again in mid-July.
I have been there a few more times during our tuna trip, but still can't figure out what impacts the the fish location, I know the tides changes tuna location to east or west edge, but no clue about those bottom fish
A very nice haul of haddock and other “ground fish”. Ive fished stellwagon once and had a similar mixed bag, struck out of bluefin so bottom fished for whiting, haddock, and ling. You got a lot more haddock though, nice job they taste amazing 👍
@@GrimmFishing yea tuna fishing for those giant tuna is usually just hours of nothing. But at least you saved the trip. Haha yea jigging with a big diamond jig for a long time can be tiring but that is the fun part. don’t remember it being too deep, only like 80’-120’ at the top of the ledge

We spent many hours waiting for tuna, so yeah jigging for a longtime for haddock, my buddies were using electronic reels
