I'd say Tim And Eric were more influential on that type of comedy. Xavier did influence the "PS1 graphics," animated style, though, and it really was ahead of it's time.
The opening bit reminds me of that Billy and Mandy bit with the super old guy who works out and eats healthy, with each healthy snack/exercise adding 12 minutes to his lifespan
