  • Greg shares the secret of how to strum and pick to the beat of any song using IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES by Garth Brooks as an example. Strumming Patterns get everybody started but most Ukulele players from what I've seen play like ROBOTS. You need to get to the next level and PLAY BY FEEL. This lesson shows you how.

Hi there, I have a question I hope you can answer for me. I have a Kala 8E 8 string uke which has a high & low G and C strings. The low strings are above the low strings so you strike the high string first with downward strumming. Could I change the strings so the low strings are struck first or would this wreck the sound? Cheers, Graham

What an interesting question! And I've spent 30 mins researching an answer! Don't worry, I'm genuinely curious myself. I checked out the thinking for 12 string guitars and yes, your issue is an issue for even famous players. Reversing the order of the pairings is common and even removing the higher pitched string. For me 12 string guitars (and 8 string ukes) provide a big mellow backdrop to a song. Think America, Horse with No Name or some of the Eagles songs. Anyway, check out this link..... www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230149
