What I don't understand is why not NBC Sports Network and regular NBC? That way you can run LPGA or senior tour events on one network and regular tour on another.
Fox was bad in 2015, after that they basically just hired all the old ESPN/ABC crew (Azinger, Strange, Weiskopf) once those guys dropped golf after 2015, Fox was fine after that. It was basically the old ABC crew but with Buck instead of Mike Tirico. But the US Open on NBC was a fantastic product, and was always going to be hard to top. Fox didn’t come close, although they did bring all the other networks into the modern age by using the ball tracer so much, now all the networks do that. They also kept the leaderboard on the screen except for when someone was hitting, which was also good. It’s annoying how in freaking 2020 no other networks do it for golf. Meanwhile NBC is trying way too hard lately with their own graphics (like that giant translucent “for birdie” they sometimes put up), instead of CBS and NBC doing the one thing Fox did that needs to be kept: a scoreboard.
I too, with the other commenters, am so glad to see that Fox is now gone for this coverage. Joe Buck may be "ok" for football and some other announcing in the sports world, but just awful for golf. Bravo to whoever and however they worked this out with the USGA. Good to see you back NBC and Dan Hicks ! 👍👍👍
Finally some positive news! Joe Buck and the cast of clowns can take a hike! Azinger has his moments but I'm generally not a fan of his. Brad Faxon is a smart guy though and I would like to see him in a MINOR role in some other commentary department.
Actually Fox wasn't that bad if you turned the sound off...... Can't wait to hear the NBC trumpets again.
Fox had some great ideas, the commentators just lacked in my opinion. Hearing the ball drop in the cup was pretty satisfying...

He was great, but he retired. I'm sure he's happy about the change, however.

TheRenster500 Azinger does NBC Golf as well. Presumably he will now do the USGA events for them as well.
