Sam Ehlinger was recently drafted by the Indianapolis Colts. Overcoming the recent tragedies Sam Ehlinger is proving to everyone why he is the new GOAT. Sam Ehlinger is going to reach his maximum potential in the Indianapolis Colts. Sam Ehlinger was born on September 30, 1998, in Austin, Texas. Goes without saying, but you're probably going to be a Texas Longhorns fan if you were born and raised in Austin. And this quickly became the situation with Ehlinger. Ehlinger grew to love the Longhorns as a young child. He often flashed the "Hook Em Horns" sign and daydreamed about being a quarterback for the Longhorns. His father, Ross Ehlinger passed away from a heart attack in March 2013, when Ehlinger was in the eighth grade. After this devastating incident, Ehlinger set out to fulfill his lifelong goal of becoming a quarterback for Texas and to make his dad proud. Drew Brees and Nick Foles both attended Westlake High School, where Ehlinger enrolled with the goal of taking over as the starting quarterback. And soon enough, Todd Dodge, the head coach, noticed the kid’s talents right away. As a sophomore, Ehlinger took over as Westlake's starter and never looked back. The 2014's District Newcomer was credited with 2,543 passing yards, 876 running yards, and 42 total touchdowns. This served as a lead-up to being one of the greatest high school seasons of all time! Even as a junior, Ehlinger dominated the competition. He led Westlake to the 2015 state championship game and was voted the 6A Offensive Player of the Year. Ehlinger finished his career at Westlake with 125 total touchdowns and as the all-time leader in passing yards and overall yards despite missing most of his senior year due to injuries.
Ehlinger's outstanding performance and winning ways cemented his status as one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation.

If he doesn’t do well this season, I don’t think the Colts office or fans will look at him as a waste of a 6th round pick. I'm so pissed off that they didn't give ehlinger the keys! Ok I'll admit I've been a sceptic, at times vocal about him not starting but this preseason he really showed how much talent he has and just how much he's familiar with this offense. Yeah ok he is shorter than other players like Manning or luck and that's another reason he went almost undrafted. This happened to Tom Brady also and we see how that turned out! We see Aaron Rodgers a guaranteed hofamer and he had to sit for a couple seasons. The one quarterback ehlinger should choose to emulate and that is none other than drew Brees! Now I'm a believer that Sam should start either in an injury to ryan or at the end of next season. We see how are season is going and out of all the quarterbacks we've had i believe ehlinger is better than everyone except Peyton, luck and Phillip rivers. Wish rivers stayed and he could still have been our starter then hand the keys over! Ehlinger should have started before making a dumb move getting Carson Wentz! That season could and should have been his at center! Maybe we might have won the AFC title or even make it to Superbowl. I'm just putting this up here to see if anyone agrees with me along these lines or if they don't just say why either way please??

In spite of the perception the Texas Longhorns are full of 5* players, his years at Texas came at an unfortunate time. He committed to play under a coach and staff that were fired just before he arrived to a new head coach and almost completely new assitant staff (which was lacking to say the least, most were replaced by 2019)...and a transition recruiting class that was light on elite talent, particularly O-line. If he had been surrounded by the talent Steve Sarkesian has managed to put together for this current season the Longhorns may be undefeated right now. Is he a natural passer like Quinn Ewers? (current Texas QB and 5*) No, but he knows how to take advanatage of the offensive talent around him and in games where they falter...completely take over and will the team to win games they would otherwise lose. (See his Sugar Bowl performance vs Georgia) He isnt your typical journeyman NFL "don't care got paid" type QB...he has a must win attitude every time he hits the field. If I were a Colts fan I'd be excited to have such a QB on the roster, starter or otherwise. You'll definitely see the guys on offense give a little extra effort when Sam is in the game..

Ehlinger is a true, honest player for his team. He gives his all every game and a great leader. He wants the win as much as the fans and coaches and will do everything in his power to deliver. He will listen to the coaches on how to improve and support his teammates.

What an amazing gift to Austin to be able to call Sam its native son. He carries himself with honour and respect. And the diligence he has shown while persevering through the difficult moments of losing his Dad, then sadly his brother as well, embodies the Austin traits of overcoming horrible situations and turning a negative into a positive and growing, while helping others grow as well. I've always knew he was NFL bound.
Congratulations Sam, now you can be the 3rd Westlake QB to win it ALL!!!!! Hook Em'!!!!!

No, Richardson. Ehlinger needs to get out of Indianapolis and go somewhere he can start, he looks like a good QB, but with Richardson as the future starter Ehlinger’s career will be wasted at the Colts.

@@puresports9596 you said he played center, and there are various other small akwardnesses in some of the phrases you use or how you state things that show you aren't really knowledgeable about football. Baseball is called THE BIG LEAGUES because it is just that ...the American and the National Leagues....the NFL is just called the NFL because it is THE National Football LEAGUE......not Leagues. Tons of things like that you need to clean up in order to not sound like you don't know what you are talking about.
