- European Half Marathon record holder (59:13) Julien Wanders is beginning his journey back to top race shape with his eyes on some big road races this Winter.
This morning's workout is a staple for his group - a long steady run (of which Julien completed 28km) on Moiben Road - a short drive from Iten.

Whenever I feel like I don't wanna go for a long run , I watch any random sweat elite video and BAM I 'm out on the road ....!!!
best motivation
Same
keep the spirit up💪💪
Lo mismo digo bro, son unas bestias.
i still have to go anyways (it's comoulsory training) but amazing motivation especially on long run days
My man just ran 40k like a boss while chatting multiple times and he did it in 2h15min without breaking a sweat. What an amazing athlete and always kept a big smile on. What a group of champions and what a great positive vibes between them.
And at 2200m altitude 😵💫
The runners are unbelievably strong. So much talent
@3:24 min Bernard Koech takes second at the Amsterdam marathon 2021 on his debut marathon 🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 at a time of 2:04:09
It's so cool to see videos from Kenya! I can hear Julien already adapted the Kenyan accent when speaking english, the same happened to me when I was living in east Africa (Zanzibar) :D, even though I mostly spoke Kiswahili towards the end.
That girl just hanging on!
What a beautiful running action she had
It was incredible to watch. She stayed with them for easily over a kilometer at 3:20/km and and looked super relaxed when she dropped off
She's definitely going to be a champ one day. Keep an eye on her haha
That’s was great to see, keeping up at 3:20 it’s incredible. Heartwarming scenes
She used to it haha
It seems out of this world!HIGH HIGH LEVEL
finally. i have been waiting for juliens video
Geoffrey Kamworor next? Training for Valencia marathon? Letssss goooo
Wish Julien for the best. Hope that he will be injury free in coming seasons. We know that he has nice potential to be great in upcoming years.
I once tried to run with this group, and failed miserably. they’re the real deal
Yeah me too. Then the video ended and I was still slow.
😉🙃😆👍
how do you run with that group tho?
@@jakerussell135 just ask, everyone in iten is really welcoming
@@georgenowak8854 u live in eten?
FML, they are chatting at 5Km mark at 3:18 pace!! Toiler break! It makes me breathless just to watch this. These are the gods of running. My interval training is at the pace... 😀
Yeah, toilet break, then catching the group going at 3:20/km then finishing 40km at that pace. Wild :D
Julien - an absolutely true running dominator in Europe
Brilliant video this guy is so dedicated to making content it's insane well done
Just fantastic to watch. Thank you for these videos.

sweat elites, best long run video ever!
Awesome video, hope to see more from Kenya and Ethiopia.
Sweet video! Keen to see what Angus and Sweat can create whilst in Kenya ;)
Super cool amazing ...In these very limited conditions they are doing superb job.🌿🌿🌿
"Group Tempo Run 40km 3:20/km" so relatable 😆
Bravo a tous
Julien go🔥🚀
My team❤️❤️
fantacio and frio.
Really cool video, favorite running channel with my favorite Athlete. Do you plan to do another one with him and his group while in Kenya ?
We definitely have more in the pipeline. Maybe in a week or two!
the kenyan running atmosphere is great
It's unreal!
what happened to Julien in the olympics? can anyone share some information on his injury. this video is wonderful what a camaraderie and trueness to this inside view. i would jump at the chance to somehow be involved with helping out here .
The little girl keeping up with them
Of course!
The running technique of professionnals runners his so impressive..
4:05: whats that they are applying to the legs? liniment? ointment?
For them is running not only life style, but also "religion". 👌😊
All the way in Kenya!
💚
At 10:14, this girl have future, maybe will se her name on the greats
that pace is ridiculous
if she can hold the pace for 42km she would run a 2:20 marathon
14:45 beautiful sync
These two running towards that hill was a beautiful thing to behold!
3:58 what there are applying on there legs?
3:20 pace is a jog for these runner's 🥴
se eu tivesse esse creme 4:12, correria fácil tbm😆
They all run in same shoes? What are they?
"stop talking and Just run!" Friendly advise from the truck 😜😜
3:58 what is that clay?
👍👍👍👍👍✋
a friendly voice of criticism - you usually do this, but in this case there was a short instance where you didn't show the name of (amos kimutai) who was being interviewed at the beginning, 1:31 mark. i think it's important to name someone regardless if they're relatively known in the running community or not.
Thank you so much for this feedback. We did tag him at the end of the video when he finishes, that tag should have been there at the start, you're right.
🙋🏻♂️🇧🇷👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wanders with the English-Kenyan accent 😁
@3:24 min Bernard Koech looking good the Amsterdam Marathon I guess that was the secret
I wonder if the "cream" they were applying at the start was 'Pferdebalsam' which is a German natural equivalent of IcyHot. It's quite good.
Probably just Vaseline
What’s that stuff they are all putting on their legs… and face??
Yes it is a gel they apply for warmth
@@lukakandi1474 so much double dipping going on 😂😂
Wow, Julien Wanders! So good to see. Thank you!
At 4' - I'm guessing it's an embrocation, like cyclists use, to keep warm a bit?
Embrocation?
Do you mean "arm warmers" ?🤔😉
@@endokrin7897 it’s like Vaseline
why this 3:20 pace looks like an jogging run, and my 3:20 pace fells like sprinting in front of an Smilodon
because you are weak and don't have the strength to run a lot faster, for these guys 3:20 is very easy and they can run a lot faster for distance so they are not as close to their max as you are
@@stayontrack haha
Effortless!
We wants to see nn running team's Athlete.
May aswell have done a marathon 15:41
@2:17 Did you just say Pole?
Hamstring injuries are woated
Can confirm. I had lingering issues from October 2019 to March 2021.
What is the requirement to train with these people?
To be able to keep up!!!
Kenyans seem to join the group fairly freely, coming and going. The Europeans that join are normally either close friends with Julien or train under the same coach (Renato) but a very friendly approachable group and if you are confident enough to join a session they're normally happy to have you
This is more hd then bbc
10:36 me trying to keep up
She stuck with them for a good while! And finished with a fat smile on her face, a big fat win in our books!
@@sweatelite This was an amazing moment. I cannot wait to show my daughters this clip and see the joy and freedom in running fast that this young girl exhibited! Awesome! I am so impressed by so many special moments present in this brief video. Thanks for bringing such amazing content. Love the channel and the podcast.
I doubt you'll ran faster than her haha
That sounds like a South African accent to me ?!?🤔🇿🇦Lekker
It might just be ;)
South African accent spotted
