    Make iMessage available in every device, and iPhone loses half their market quickly. They know this.

      They don't have to make it universally available. But they should support newer technologies allowing rich and end-to-encrypted communication, such as RCS. And they should stop perpetuating the "green bubble" stigma to keep their profits up.

    Apple also maintains that 3rd parties cannot repair their products because security. This means consumers are not able to keep their phones as long. All tech companies use this tactic.

      But their privacy standards are also one of their great strengths compared to Google and Meta etc

      @@ili626 Apple keeps user information for itself, and appears to do a better job with privacy at least for now

      I've got no problem if you prefer apple for their ecosystem, phones, watches, etc. But if you pick them ONLY or MOSTLY because of privacy, rethink your decision.
      Apple is as bad as other companies when it comes to tracking, they just do it in a smart way where they can manipulate the words for it to be at the borderline of legal.

    All of these tech companies have redefined the concept of ownership, ie you think you own the phone but you don’t. You can’t install your own apps or operating system on the device and do with it as you please after purchase

    Remember when their Chinese workers were committing suicide by jumping off the factory roof. They erected nets to catch the falling bodies rather than improve worker conditions.

    If you go about most comment sections, you'll always find Apple & Android Fanboys at each others throats...The point every one is missing here, is that ultimately that the lawsuit will be decided on one thing only ..Whether Apple violated the sherman act or not. Microsoft essentially commited coersion to promote their OWN software bundle on OTHERS hardware, that's why they faced action in their anti trust lawsuit, Google has essentially done the same , that's why they lost their case against epic. Apple however controls the entire experience hardware , software from top to bottom which is why THEY more or less won their lawsuit against epic, with only a slap on their wrist regarding the anti-steering rule. If Apple is to be declared a monopoly , congress will literally have to amend the sherman act or create a new one , like the EU has. Other than that the only outcome i see for this lawsuit is either apple narrowly wins or settles the matter with certain concessions like opening up the apple ecosystem to other companies wallets and watches & allowing cloud streaming of games. As far as messaging is concerned china has more or less forced them to adopt RCS. Removal of App Store gate keeping and allowing super apps is a long shot , but only time will tell

    I have had an iPhone since I was 16 years old, I’m almost 30 😭 I love Apple products and literally can’t use another operating system. I’m probably part of the problem. Everyone I know as an iPhone.

    What is the best selling car in America? It’s like saying the most popular car has a monopoly against other cars.

    • @fredbarnes196
      @fredbarnes196 2 месяца назад +2

      Yes if there were only two cars, and one of them didn’t allow Bluetooth connection or radio to be installed

      The podcast episode addresses this. Simply being the most popular/monopoly isn't illegal per se. It is performing exclusionary and predatory practices to inhibit competition that is illegal.

    Also I’d it’s true that Apple Pay is more secure than I think that’s great and they shouldn’t allow third parties in. Isn’t there Samsung pay? I always use Apple Pay especially at gas pumps because I’ve heard it’s so much more secure.

    8:15 I know everyone I text with who has an android, and might think they’re low status losers 😂.. really? That’s a complaint made by Congress? Maybe the issue is stupid status obsessed teenagers.. Maybe Android needs to be make a better product?
