It’s definitely a bucket list event. I think entries have just opened for 2025 and I don’t believe you need to do any qualifying events now so entry is easy, the run however is not so easy! 😂 👍🏼
Well done Ted, great result and a great video. I ran it for the 1st time this year age 60 and it kicked my backside, never again.....when's the entry open for next year? 🤣
Great video. Probably the most realistic I've seen, particularly the climb to Whernside. Not that I've ran it myself. Definitely a bucket list. Need to get my finger out!
Thanks for the kind comment! It’s definitely a bucket list run for any trail/fell runner but do put the effort in to train for it because it’s tough! 😃👍🏼
Great coverage as usual Ted, gives a really comprehensive idea of the course. That climb straight up the side of Whernside, reminds me of my very first Wainwright - Harts(t)op Dodd 😂 Great result, under 4 1/2 hours. I’m doing the longer “non-race route” in August as a run and will be happy with anything under 6 1/2! 🙂
Thanks for the great feedback, that’s really appreciated. I was hoping for 4 hours and feel I should be good for it but it just wasn’t to be on this occasion. Always next time! 😃 Good luck on your run, it’s a stunning route.
That was a very good video and a very good run - I cannot believe that you managed to keep recording thoughout! Well done indeed. And the best description of the final Whernside section that I have ever heard: "That is the most mental thing that I have ever seen"🤣
🤣🤣 Thanks for the kind comment! It’s a shame the video doesn’t do it justice, that is one tough climb but absolutely incredible yet daunting view! 💪🏼👍🏼
Thanks Tim. Get signed up for next year but you need to make sure you complete the qualifying races. After your 6/6 you will be like one of those universal solders! 🤣💪🏼
Hi Jason, thanks for the great feedback. I was using a simple DJI pocket 1 but the gimbal on it could stand the punishment that I give it and kept failing so I’ve bought a DJI action 4. It’s absolutely brilliant and I have done race shorts with a little side pocket that I can drop the camera into if needed so works for me, although I do have to be careful not to drop it or that will cost me time! 🤣 I just stitch the footage together on a simple app on my phone and set o I could do with a better set up but I don’t know what I would get. I really only make the videos as memories for me but if others enjoy them too then all the better. 👍🏼
@@Ted-offroad Thanks Ted. I run quite a bit but not to your standard. Your videos give a great insight into the race with some entertaining commentary. Keep doing them.
Thanks Paul, one of my hardest challenges to date but also one of the most stunning and beautiful runs ever! Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. 👍🏼
@@Ted-offroad I think your time was very good.im 67 now and have just started running again after a long life threatening illness I was a decent runner for 48 years and didn't think I would gat back but your videos and some other runners I follow keep me motivated.so thank you
Thanks Chris, appreciated. I can’t remember but I think Wharfedale trail half, Lakeland Trail 55k and I think it might have been the Due North Kettlewell half. Have you seen the qualifying list? It’s a great run and I’m not finished with it yet! 🤣
Yes it’s a huge list. I was trying to work out which events would be worth travelling from Aberdeen to do. The route they use for three peaks looks brutal, I have only ever done it following the paths and not straight up the side of whernside 😂
This race looked awesome. Do you have to complete 2 events to get into this race. Which races did you do ted? to qualify to have a go. Well done by the way👌👍💪
Hi Jason, I think it was 3 races to qualify but there is a large selection to choose from, check out the detail here: www.threepeaksrace.org/entryqualification Thanks for your kind comment, it’s much appreciated. 👍🏼
Yes, I’m not sure why they run the race the way they do, I can only think that it’s H&S not liking so many runners tackling the scramble section together or it’s to divert away from the small style in the wall having walkers and runners on the same bit?
@@Ted-offroad definitly right! Fabulous video! I have done the three peaks a few times now andI am using the 3 peaks to train for a race in September in the Lake District! The three peaks are simply amazing, tough and beautiful!
Well done Ted. Was great meeting u yesterday very inspirational videos
😃 Thank you and good to meet you too! 👍🏼
Looks good this mate definitely on my list for next year 🏃♂️🏃♂️👍

@Ted-offroad yeah I bet I've got my 142nd marathon this Sunday mate chester but i know the feeling these can be hard depends on the cut off times 👍👍😁
Wow, that’s impressive. Are you pushing for a time? I’m doing the Yorkshire Marathon in 3 weeks. 😅
@Ted-offroad yes me to Ted I'm.at Yorkshire it be my 4th time I see how I go not expecting a great time as I had injury not long ago enjoy 🙂👍
Oh, good stuff, if you see me, make sure you say Hi. 👍🏼
Love your honest Ted and vlogs mate 💯💪🏻🙌🏻😝🏃♂️.

Well done Ted, cracking run and loved the vid! (Rorie here from Inov8 - thanks for sharing the link!)
Nice one! Thanks for the comment & great feedback. 👍🏼
Not seen a film that captures the runner’s point of view quite so well before. Great job and a brilliant performance.

Wowzers!! Great video Teddy!! Race looks fantastic, would love to have a go.

I've walked it and found it quite easy apart from the blisters, but to run it, is incredible. Amazing effort.
😃 Thank you. It’s definitely a tough one running it! 🤣👍🏼
Class racing and class video. Definitely a bucket list event. The race route up whernside looks absolutely brutal. Well done 👍

Thanks for the great feedback and huge well done on the Fellsman, I thought this race was tough, the Fellsman is another level! 👏🏼👏🏼

Fella well done so proud mate. Keep going mate.
Cheers Andy, this was a seriously tough one. The video doesn’t do it justice! 😂
I know that feeling mate but you soldiered on. Awesome running and you can knock off a few mins for filming and carrying a camera👊
Cheers Al, despite being broken, I wasn’t going to let it beat me! Just means I have to come back again… 😂 Get your entry in, we can race it! 🤣🤣
Cracking effort Ted. I bet you’ll be back for more😅
😂 Thanks Stu, I am sure you’re right! I’m not done with those mountains yet!! 💪🏼 Thanks for the comment. 👍🏼

Loved that - I’ve ran the route a few times but never entered the official event! One for the bucket list I think 👍
That was the easy way up Pen-y-gent! The other way is over 40% incline!
