    “homeschooling is an extension of Motherhood” . Brilliant! I never thought about homeschooling before I was a mother. In fact, I graduated from the public school system. But once I became a mother, it only felt right and natural that my child would learn directly from me. It didn’t make sense to me that I would send my child to learn the beliefs and values of someone I didn’t even know. I really just love this quote. ❤

      I felt exactly the same.
      I've been called on to write a home education report for my 6 and 5 year olds by the learning authorities at the council.
      I hope what I provide can prove that they are well educated out of the school system!

    Speaking of inventing the telephone, it's not who you think. It's actually Antonio Meucci. This is the sort of thing you can learn alongside your child while home educating! Because you have choices and can reference various curricula and perspectives and the most up to date content. Great video!

    I’ve decided I’ll probably start homeschool soon. The kids are a bit apprehensive and not sure they’ll like it so I’m holding off a little but I’m busting at the seams with fun ideas for learning. There are so many life skills I never learned in school. When I was grown I actually felt like most of my time in school had been wasted, even though I was a straight A student. Even though the kids aren’t sold on the idea of homeschool I actually feel like they are going to love it. They will get so much more freedom to learn about things they’re actually interested in and things that actually matter. But I am going to be sure to throw in some boring but useful things too (like math.) one of the best parts about it is that we will no longer have to wake up at 6:30 am for school 😂

    Excellent Home Education video. Your so right children learn more from us than in school, because they can learn at their own pace and study what they are good at. I'm from the UK. Our daughter begged me to Home Educate. She is now teaching Art at Cinema & Co weekly. She has opted out of Art College and has an outstanding American Art Mentor who is teaching her perspective and Anatomy without the smut. Very technical. I had no idea that Art was so complex.
    Melody has also passed her Music Theory Exam with a Distinction. Considering she could hardly read, write or spell in school, I think this proves Home Education works. Especially as many famous musicians such as Prince, Eric Clapton, Hendrix, Lionel Richie etc all play by ear, which is a gift State Education does not acknowledge, but should. These famous people all attended State Education and cannot read sheet music.
    Our daughter is studying further so she can compose and write sheet music as well as teach.
    I was taught ITA English Twaddle so I have never been a fan of State Education.
    I used Art and Music to make reading fun, not stressful.
    Never stop dreaming. I love Home Education because I believe children have a right to be children and should not be forced to act like little adults. Play, make mud pies. And learn what makes you happy and helps you with the career you wish to follow. ♥️

Having my son made me realise I need to be more patient with myself and my maths skills have definitely improved! It can feel like the impossible before starting but once you get started, remember your not recreating school and just allow the first year to be what it is - a trial and error year to work out your routine together. It doesn’t have to feel so daunting. And the doubts will always creep in, just remind yourself no one knows your kids like you do 💛🤦🏼‍♀️

    Hi would just like to share some tips I have found that work great for my family.
    Singing and dancing. I have a 4 year old who loves to sing and dance like many. I try to make up simple songs to go with what we're learning or doing, it doesn't have to be fantastic, especially at such a young age, most children find silly songs amusing :)
    I found this helps if my son doesn't particularly want to do somthing, like learning to brush his teeth, we sang a song while doing it and throughout the day. Now he loves to brush his teeth.
    Another tip is dancing, I've read alot about how dancing stimulates happy hormones and it can really make a mundane activity fun. Just dancing in general for fun is also beneficial as children learn to move their bodies in different ways and not to mention it strengthens your relationship as you get to be silly and have fun with your child :)
    I also make sticker charts to build a routine and encourage learning. Kids love stickers! Some of the charts we did were simple as - get up, get dressed, use the toilet, brush our teeth, have breakfast, play outside, tidy up toys.
    I found it a brilliant way to encourage my son to do things he didn't particularly enjoy, like sitting on the toilet for a poo, brushing his teeth and tidying up. Now he mostly enjoys these activities as it had an end goal of a sticker. I worried we would end up having to do stickers after everything we did. But we didn't at all, he genuinely ended up complaining tasks with ease as it had become part of his daily routine.
    I hope this might help someone, homeschooling isn't as scary as it sounds x

The one thing that constantly gets mentioned to me is 'oh but if she doesnt go to school she wont be able to sociailse' and others forms of that same sentance. I was just wondering if you had any recomendations for finding playgroups or social groups, as whenever i google i get the bare minimum.

    • @lenanayashkova
      @lenanayashkova 9 месяцев назад

      I genuinely do worry that it is a valuable experience getting out into the world without your parent on your own. And interacting with peers in that social setting. Allt the same time I don't think it is well balanced in the system as it is and there is no opportunity to tailor the timing and dose of this to a specific child.

      I'm so sorry your having such a hard time at school. I'm sure with some research and if your parents are willing you can school at home, online. There are lots of online tutoring sites, it may just take a little research to find one that suits you. My children are still young so i don't have much experience or knowledge of the best classes online so my best advice would be have a little look around, read reviews and hopefully you will find a good online programme. Really hope you find something!

    Hi. Sorry just wanting other people's opinion. I've been homeschooling my daughter for almost 4 years now. We're Filipinos living in the UK for 18years+. Just this week I was scrolling through FB and I saw a lot of posts from parents in the UK struggling/worrying/feeling scared because school is not meant for their kids. I thought if I were to open a homeschooling agency and hire qualified teachers from the PH. It would help both sides. For example, live online classes (british curriculum) for year 3 4hours daily, 4 days a week in all subjects for £50/monthly (this price is roughly 64hrs worth of lessons based on 4 weeks) subscription. Thoughts?

    Thank you so much for this video… I’m planning to homeschool my now 2 year old son that’s why im doing a lot of research. I live in the uk so I’m curious how home education works here. Few questions please, is there an age requirement on when you can start homeschooling? Will it be considered when we somehow decided to put him in a proper school? Because there’s gcse’s and A levels in here. How will it work in that sense? How long or up to what age you can home school your kids?
    Sorry I’ve got too many questions.
    Thanks in advance 😊

    • @blossomschoolhouse6059
      @blossomschoolhouse6059  Год назад

      Hi. I totally understand these thoughts and questions as I had the same myself. The beauty of home education is you can teach them/learn whatever you want when you want! The law states you’re required to give them an education suitable to their needs, how you do that is up to you. For me I would say if it is their first school year i.e age 4/5 then just focus on math and phonics so counting, letter sounds, learning songs etc for the early years and let interest lead in other subjects. For example if they show interest in an animal you can look it up in a book and talk about it and look at pictures etc. If your kids are older I would still say for the first year find your footing and get a nice routine going with just math and English and then add in the rest as and when. Schools have a set guideline of what the children learn and when but we don’t have to. We can learn anything and everything anywhere and anytime and there’s no rush 💛

    • @blossomschoolhouse6059
      @blossomschoolhouse6059  Год назад

      And yes we use a curriculum for most subjects but that’s just personal preference. Most curriculums with have level assessments to place the child on the right level ☺️

      By law in the U.K. there aren’t any specified hours at the moment, but because homeschooling is generally more intensive and one on one so it requires less than the 6 they would have at public school. 💛

    • @ohwellwhateverr
      @ohwellwhateverr 2 года назад +3

      That’s where co-op learning groups come in, as well as extracurricular activities/groups, church groups, etc that are open to all other kids. Homeschooled kids tend to be better socialised because they’re interacting with people of all different ages during the day, not just peers of their own age group.

    • @blossomschoolhouse6059
      @blossomschoolhouse6059  Год назад

      Hi. So sorry this reply is so late! The answer is yes their need for friendship is most definitely fulfilled in ways that (imo) are even more beneficial than if they were at school. To main reason for that is the socialisation with children and adults of ALL ages throughout each week, rather than just kids their own age. They attend 3 clubs a week with children of different ages both older and younger, spend time with family and friends, and speak to to people when we run errands and go out and about. I have two children with very different characters and it’s been interesting to see my social daughter bloom and gain even more confidence with people than she already has naturally and it’s also been incredible to watch my naturally very reserved and shy daughter learn, from her sister and our day to day life, the social skills she needs to grow up in this world ❤

    • @t9803013
      @t9803013 Год назад +1

      @@blossomschoolhouse6059 Many thanks for the reply. Our 9 year old daughter is definitely gaining a lot from some of the clubs she has joined, especially kick boxing, she attends 5 days a week, meets loads of kids in her class from different ages. Her Sensai keeps them all level headed and now that's she's entering competitions meets even more people. She's gained confidence, and that's from everything that she's involved with outside of school. This has given ME more confidence that home-schooling wouldn't be a issue in terms of her social being.

I can honestly say that the majority of the following I have and every message I receive is from women/mothers worried about homeschool and seeking advice. I didn’t in any way mean that dads aren’t a part of the child’s life or education. My husband is a huge part of our children’s education too. I am sure you know well that dads/men are not excluded from what I am talking about in this video.
