I think we all know which figure is better. This video was just to discuss the differences in these 2 figures to help people decide which one is the best for them.

I do miss the finger articulation on the Marvel Legends figures but, l just wish that the Hasbro Captain America head sculp was sculpted with more detail like the Toybiz Captain America.
Edward Stewart yeah ToyBiz had the right idea, but in execution Cap looks like an old goblin man. It sucks that Hasbro couldn’t do it with all the advancements in action figure making over the years
I wish ML just went with an aggressive looking alt head. I don't see anyone using the alt head unless they're a fan of where it was based from.
I still like the Toybiz one more. The new Cap is awesome but the sculpting details on the Toybiz version just standout to me more. Face off cap always looked like he came straight out of the old comic books! With the overly muscular body. I want Hasbro to give us better paint jobs. Again though I love the new Cap as well
I like TB Cap better. Proportions are off but what I love about it is the detail. The detail on the gloves, the belt, muscle tones, I like the paint work on the legs better too. TB Cap looks more like a comic book character and looks more intimidating. The Hasbro one just looks a bit too flat to me. Both are great figures but my pick is TB Cap.

I always though the toybiz version was a perfect representation of how Captain America looked in the Civil War main comics. Fit perfectly with the extremes IronMan we finally got.
I never had the Face Off version but I just received him from eBay yesterday. Yeah, side by side on video the proportions look off, but DAMN the Face Off figure is beautiful. A lot of fun to hold and feels of a certain quality.
Also impressively articulate for such an old figure even if it is at the expense of some strange joints. I love the Hasbro version as well, but I am really waiting for a re-deco of him in light blue and then I'll be golden. I enjoy that darker navy blue as well but prefer Toy Biz's blue over it.
Also, I use the Toy Biz Legends Series I Cap's shield for the Hasbro one, which works out much nicer. It is the same as the Face Off shield but darker red that matches the figure well. Blue not quite but still works. 👍

the hasbro one looks so cool but for me the toybiz wins.SUBJECTIVELY
objectively too cuz look man in Italy toybiz were about 15 euros VS new hasbro figures now are about 30\35 and for that price point that Cap figure looks absolutely crap.
Well as for 20-25 bucks here in the US, I think it looks fantastic and a great buy. It is nowhere near objective.
If you could, a comparison between the toybiz legends juggernaut, select juggernaut and the Hasbro baf/anniversary jug would be awesome.

I think select juggernaut wins hands down May lack in articulation but makes up with it with the awsome sculpt and paint
I'd go as far as looks...Select, the 80th Juggs, then the BaF. The Select is great "almost a statue" articulation isn't good at all.

that Toybiz Faceoff Captain America is legendary. Still prefer all the detail that comes with it over the Hasbro. Cool that the Hasbro has sculpted feathers though.
I wish they had of gone for a slightly lighter blue on the new one.

With a modern belt
I painted mine a lighter blue color and added shading(plus swapped on the modern pouch belt from Face Off) and now I have a perfect Captain America figure
I kinda regret selling my Face off cap, better shield, better colors and paint, better headsculpt and articulation...
But ngl, proportions look like toooootal shit and meh scale.
Should've at least kept the shield to use it on the new one, its bigger, you can put on his back, there is a straps and clamp combo, and you can use the straps to put it on his back, the colors might not match perfectly, but its still a better shield than the one that came with the new cap.

THE Face off version was good at the time he even has a UTILITY AND A BETTER SHIELD also MORE MUSCLE on that figure
Remember CAPTAIN AMERICA IS ONE REALLY BIG DUDE ! HE SUPPOSED TO BE DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER ONES. BECAUSE OF THE SUPER SOLDIER SERUM.
The face off version for me is still the best Captain

You have a good point about articulated fingers being more interesting to a child. It's a good play feature, but adult collectors don't want play features (normally). And unfortunately swappable hands is just easier and cost effective.
Yep, both of those are very, very good looking. I would take either one. They are both done excellently. If I had to absolutely choose one, it would be the one on the left by a nose. The ToyBiz one is just a shade better imo. Both are awesome.
Face off cap definitely still holds up. But of course Alex Ross cap is the new king Cap. I cant wait to find him. Great video man, as always
I still have a lot of love for the face-off cap. I think overall it’s a more expressive figure even if it’s articulation has made it a bit of a relic.
idk the fuck why... but I like the onslaught wave Cap more than the Alex Ross one. feels more MVC type of Cap. Still the FO Cap is the definitive cause of the color and Face Sculpt

I love the Face Off Cap. Most comic books don’t have 100% accurate proportions so I don’t mind seeing it on my figures.
I never had a problem with my face off caps headsculpt/paint apps on his face. I was fortunate to go through several at the time and found that one that's in every batch of figures that has that right unexplainable look to the eyes that makes it stand out amongst the rest. I'm going to just keep using my face off version in my marvel vs sota capcom/sf display. Man if only storm was 6 inch scale, I would go crazy updating my mvc display/dio with all these great finally stepping it up a notch hasbro figures we've been getting. I just got Sagat and damn that figure is so spot on but I have to stick with sota since they're the only releases that scale well with legends(they're still dope though so it's all good) almost forgot to mention, as always you're my go to for these kinds of videos. You do a great job plus you seem to have very similar taste to my own so you're the only content provider of this kind that isn't a customizer/doing customs that I watch.
Face off Capt > 80th Capt . I prefer realistic sculpt over cartoony style. Awesome review as always bro! Keep it up, we rely on you. Lol

Like the colors on the TyBz version. Hasbro's is too dark. Sculpture definitely goes to Hasbro.

That 80th Anniversary Captain America looks great man. The face off cap gives me an Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon vibe though. I'm pretty sure we'll see this 80th cap rereleased with brighter paint and an unmasked head. Oh, can you post a picture of the 80th anniversary Captain America with the Face Off Shield?
The toybiz chest proportions are better but the traps are a little too big. The head sculpt is beautiful I think though.
I'm in love with the FACE of the old Cap figure, it would look amazing on the new one for the Unmasked Cap, and I can see why you love it, since I'm a huge defender of the comic accurate design, instead of one of those people that fell in love with Evans's Cap, "I kinda liked him, because he is a good actor, but he just doesn't look that much like C.A from comics".

I personally don't like the Hasbro figures because they all look the same.
Sure, Toy Biz SUCKED at making females and the proportions sometimes were wonky (because they would based their figures on different artists instead of keeping a consistent style) but damn, their sculpting was incredible, along with the articulation, painting and overall detailing of the figures.
Hasbro just feels cheap. They reuse the same molds EVERY SINGLE time. I mean, compare the Toy Biz Spider-Man figures with Hasbro's, they don't even sculpt the webs anymore. I understand why some don't like Toy Biz, but Hasbro is just so cheap.

I really got lucky with the paint apps on mine. He was the last one left at Walmart but he only has very small paint imperfections on him and in spots that aren’t very noticeable. Great review!
I like the Toy Biz head sculpt better; moreover, Hasbro, on a lot of its figures, the eyes are too far apart.
The new Cap would be better if the blue was more like the old one. I expect a re-colour at some point.

The comparison that I was looking for
I like both, but they both have significant issues in the sculpt. Hasbro Cap has lollipop syndrome/an oversized head, and his body is very square. Toybiz has a better head sculpt and the anatomy is more V-shaped/heroic looking, but the chain mail isn't well executed and the figure overall is riddled with QC issues. I would still choose Toybiz Cap though.
I finally found some at walmart in the next city over from me but the paint on all of them was HORRABLE, so I'm still searching, but so want this Capt. Thanks again for the heads up on walmart from last video 👍

I'm really curious why you really love Captain America? It's just that not many ppl do. I personally have known three, and two were from the UK, ironically.
Well, you just found another diehard Cap fan, and I'm from Brazil. The thing I love about Captain America is that he is a perfect role model, he fights for what is right no matter the odds or the consequences, and no matter what happens, he sticks to his values and never falters. He doesn't compromise, he doesn't back away from doing the right thing and he never gives up. That's the strongest and most valuable message a character could send to us people, Cap inspires me so much and he genuinely makes me want to be the best version of myself everyday. Cap's unwavering sense of justice and principles is a huge contrast to today's world, where people let go of their values to fit in or to get some form of advantage. I live by the same principles as Cap and I find comfort in him as my role model because he has teached me that we should do what's right no matter the odds and the consequences. Even if the whole world is against us, we have to stick to our values and fight for what's right. That's why I love Captain America, that's why he's and always will be my favorite superhero and role model.

The Hasbro one is no where near the face off cap. Hasbro figures have a missing touch on them.
