I love in the neighbouring village to mitcheldean, called longhope. the primary school is brilliant there, the yew tree is a lovely pub/restaurant as well!
As someone from Gloucestershire I’d argue that Gloucester, Lydney and Cinderford should be much higher than Newent who, along with Mitcheldean, should not be on that list 😂
