The required fin length is proportional to the with of the board at 30 cm from the tail. Sailing a wide tail board with a very short fin will not work great. you cn go +/- a few cm's but that's it. If you want a shorter fin (because of waterdepth or seeweed) get a delta fin. that could work. and than also masttrach forward a bit.
Good info. Thanks. Here later I use delta type weed fin to de-power the kit as wind got strong, the fangy fin. It’s a good fun fin that never spins out.

@@horsemadf1 summer seems like a world away in the ugly winter now. Planing gybes down the beach don’t happen much as the wind is less from the trees there. Got one not too bad 👍 Based on last few summers, parking is very hard. Hopefully they change something there someday to allow for more. Would be great to see you here Sue so you can show us how it’s done 😊
