I don’t agree with him saying our culture and stories are baggage. You cannot do native art without those. That’s the entire purpose behind our art form. We had no written language. Art told stories. The carvers I’ve met all said rich non natives LOVE it when you can explain the story and meaning behind the piece they’re buying.
