      Funny and true but some additional information.
      Once hatched the ant will be soft and still treated as a baby, fed, protected and cared by others around it. When it's exo hardens, which can take minutes to days, it will then be given the roll of caring for other young (Normally the safest job in a Ant Colony). Only when ants get older, they get closer to the dangers, so expansion, gathering, hunting & Guard duty.

    The very initial stage to build a huge colony is a big feature here. Queens without servants must do everything by themselves. Is that including feeding larvae, right?
    If cocoons were removed and taken care, newly hatched ants could be fertile, away from the queen (her pheromone/hormone)? Experiments?

    I wish in future animal documentaries the Foley artists (creating the sound effects in post production) calm themselves down when inputting sounds ... sometimes, there is really no need to put those sounds and it is more disturbing than enriching the content. For example, 3:25 - when the ant army is walking around ... that's a pine cone being played with ... very distracting, if the volume were at 4 out of 10 instead of 8 out of 10, it would be much more bearable.
    I wish one or 2 Foley artists see this comment and share the feedback within their industry ... because really, in many cases, those sounds are too exaggerated ... and some are overused too.

    • @jerrylee8261
      @jerrylee8261 3 года назад +1

      Music is entirely unnecessary for these docs and a lot of the time it's TOO LOUD and distracting to where I have to mute the sound. Would much prefer natural sounds-birds, rustling wind, running water, etc.
