I once swapped a long box by myself, if I remember right to get it off I just yeeted it off sideways, then to put on the new box I had it standing up on the back end (tailgate) with a hunk of wood holding it up, then backed the truck up and tilted it on
Once you remove bed, get an old kitchen table mount 4 casters 2 swivel 2 rigid on table top flip table over with legs sticking straight up, now lower bed on legs. With the legs pointing up bed will sit nice and stable missing underside cross members, bed is now very maneuverable. Good luck
It’s definitely a lot easier if you pull the box, but dropping the tank isn’t so bad either I take off the front strap and then lower it down, then loosen the rear and have a ratchet strap under the frame to hold it up when the strap is loose, use a floor Jack on the front to set it down nicely and you can get at the lines up top before you fully remove it
YOUR VIDEOS ARE EXCELLENT I have a 12 valve '94 Dodge diesel with over 600,000 miles and as you can imagine the body is past it's prime. Everything works great, but it is time for a cosmetic face lift surgery procedure. The plan, in the developmental stage, is to remove the fenders, single cab & bed. In it's place I would like to replace with my 1949 Ford F-3 single cab & 8' bed. We have built 3 rat rods with bodies put on to modern chassis, but this one gives me more pause. I would sleep better at night if you lived somewhere near Texas or Oklahoma. I would, on this one, rather hire you to swap the body on this one. The 3 rat rods are for fun and infrequently driven. Whereas this will be an "over-the-road" pickup. With the help of your videos I will be somewhat fortified. No matter where you are located, would this be a project that you would consider undertaking? Thanks, GLEN MCCALL glencrs@gmail.com
Thanks! glad you enjoy the videos! I haven’t done anything like what you described, and I’m not particularly in the business of doing work for other people so I’ll have to decline. I enjoy making these videos for helping people out while I do my personal projects, and I’ll be moving towards selling parts soon when I open up my website. The project you have doesn’t sound particularly difficult, I would start with getting the dodge frame ready and cutting off every factory mount, then using some jacks and blocks position the cab/front clip. After getting some mounts made and having that positioned, move to the box. Then comes all the details that take forever haha
Well that was easy, on to the cab now. Thanks for the super clear tutorial.
2 men can take the bed off pretty easily btw for those of us without equipment

@@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge pure genius
Time to visit the friendly neighborhood crackhead.... Or Grand ma 🤣😂
The kids swing set will work in a pinch strap a couple full length 2x4s to the top bar and use it for your crain
Hahaha that’s one way to do it!
My neighbor built a big overhead crane thing for his truck, but with the price of lumber it’s like a $2000 crane 🤣

Damn that’s a great idea! Would be awesome for doing body work and moving around
I FELT THE DIRT IN MY OWN EYES
😂😂. Removed my bed last month and holy shit I almost went blind
I'd love to have those three oval Lariat rims, I sure do want a set but man they're hard to find.
I need to replace my fuel pump. Which you recommend doing this or dropping the tank?

Good info.
Bad language.
But you're working on a Dodge.
Thanks! I’ve worked on cleaning up my language for future videos, my older ones I was definitely a lot “looser” with how I talked
Why are you pulling the body off? Frame rotted out? Gonna put it on a Cummins chassis?
Old Croney's Garage putting the body onto a diesel chassis
Is that a gtr in the garage?
Yup
R32 GTR, project car of mine I’m converting to LHD and either a Vortec 4200 or a Om606
@@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge heck yeah dude. I imported my Supra about 4 months ago. It’s a 1997 mk4
You lied. I also had the black and yellow wires.
Hack trailer wiring jobs must be common.
