    For those wondering if Pippen was the 2nd best player in the NBA at the think about this. Chuck Daly said Pippen and Jordan were the best players in the 92 Dream Team. Also Pippen was the best player on the 96 Dream Team. Had he not sit out those 11 games in the 93-94 sesaon the Bulls would've had 60 wins, which would be the 2nd best record in that season and better than their prior year with Jordan.

    • @ja8ames
      @ja8ames 3 года назад

      There's definitely a good argument to be made for Pippen, and I believe Daly. Pippen really thrived when he could be the point forward, and both Magic and Stockton were hurt for parts of those Olympics. The tricky thing in looking at 1994 is that there were quite a few players capable to leading a team to 50-60 wins and a solid playoff run. A great season for Pip, to be sure, though.

      Yep, no matter how you define that, I agree. Most complete small forward I ever saw play and could guard and play every position if and when needed. Simply amazing. If you want 30 or 35 points consistently a night scoring as your ideal, OK he is not your guy. If you want someone who does everything overall at an elite level within a game, then he is your guy. I have been watching since the mid 70's.

    Everybody keep saying how people underrated pipen. The truth is only part time fans or people that were babies or born after the 90s think like that. For instance in 93 I was 10 yrs old, there last championship I was around 15 years of age. I played nba live back then and scottie and Grant Hill were the two starting small forwards for the all star team on the game and in real life. That went on for years. Starting forward on all star teams, I'm sure he was 1st or second team all nba, he was on the dream team. So during his prime he got all the recognition he should have have gotten. Obviously he didn't get paid Like other stars because he signed a long term contract. So when he sign the contract he was making the right amount of money, but 5, 6 and 7 yrs later having the same contract everyone else passed him up. He wanted the long term contract not realizing how things worked at the time. So long story short the only people that over looked him are people who wasn't around in the 90s or the ones too young to remember. No one who watched basketball in the 90s overlooked him. There's alot of players people don't mention who were great in the 90s. For example Clyde Drexler is a top 5 shooting guard ever.. Jordan, kobe, wade, Drexler etc. Yet he's barely mentioned, but people from the early 90s remember how great he was. It happens.
