Thank you so much. Your video is helpful, and even though I had broken down chickens, I had never had the nerve to try a turkey until I watched your video.

I knew they had to be someone else other than myself with this idea. I would love to eat turkey throughout the year considering it’s an healthier choice. Considering I have never cooked a turkey let alone chopping it for storing into freezer. Thank you for your video I appreciate it 🥰

This worked perfectly! With your video in front of me that I kept pausing with my knuckle, and with my freshly sharpened boning knife and kitchen shears it went just like your video. Short and to the point! Thank you so much!

Great video. Very helpful. You know how to handle a knife. I watched this because we got a free turkey from a promotion at our food store and wanted to break it down for separate meals. I especially liked how you did the cut to get to the thigh joint. The key to all this is a very sharp boning knife. It made the process much easier. Thanks.

Great video , excactly how I cut up my birds......I rarely cook a whole turkey or chicken, I want my meat to be cooked to perfection , juicy and done ........no matter it fried, air fried , smoked etc.... The white and dark meat must be cooked separate. The carcass is great when smoked with wood and then broken down and finished off in a pressure cooker, no stock is better for a five star Turkey Soup than this method.......rice or noodles , celery or onion or maybe all because I have and all love it ! I roast my carrots and stop before they are completely soft , just a little crunch and add them to each bowl as being served. Also you can render the best smokey stock for many gravey dishes by freezing it. Don't settle for 3 or 4 star dishes are you and yours not worth a 5 star , my folks told me while growing up on a farm in the 60's " we are too poor to waste or not eat well " I don't care if its cornbread and pinto beans, you can make a 5 star meal out of it ! God bless

This also is a good idea to buy 2 or 3 small 10-12 lb turkey. Much easiest to cook thigh and 1/2 a breast for thanksgiving and use the others for future use. Turkey you can keeper early in November or after the holidays at a cheap rate.

I have a whole turkey that's frozen solid. I can thaw it and break it down like this, but then I have to cook it, right? I can't re-freeze the parts unless I cook them first.

I bought 2 butterballs today, 20 lbs each on special for 5.90 each on 11/24/23. I couldn't pass up this Safeway special. But then my friend told me Zi can't freeze a "fresh" butterball turkey. I'm in trouble if I can't freeze. It's just a 1 person household. Do you think it's ok to freeze after cutting up? Thank you.

So do I, last year smoking 2 deconstructed turkeys. This year, more guests so 3 turkeys. Salt them on racks in the fridge (fancy name called 'dry brining') overnight. Breasts off at 150-155F, thighs at 185-190F, and drumsticks can even go to 200F. Can't believe it took me this long to figure out. Bring out a huge platter of ready to serve turkey and nobody remembers Norman Rockwell, believe me!

Yup i broke down two 20 lb ers in one hour in 2021(so proud of myself) and one in 2022 with extra on sale turkey breast last min. 2023 hmm not sure yet, prices are scary, but maybe will look for a smaller bird since Ms Carla cut it down so quickly.

Ugh, she didn't wash her hands before touching the bags. Unless she washes the bags before putting in the fridge or freezer, she'll cross-contaminate everything that touches the bags.
