I would too! They definitely had a certain charisma back then with their younger more edgy look and Matt having a crazy teen persona, and his voice… OH MY GOD HIS VOICE WAS INCREDIBLE! However, while he certainly could hold a note, one can’t help but notice that while his voice was great, his voice could sound a tad bit shaky at times, and he may have relied on hitting higher notes for impressiveness (again still great but this is constructive criticism). As he aged (around after 2008), his voice matured, and while some dislike his bellowing (and I’m guilty of it as well) I’ve grown fond of his bellowing. It shows great strength and ability to maintain a note, even if it is in a lower register. His voice may not be able to hit the same highs as before, but the strength in his voice shows his ability to adapt and change with his body. He does not resist the change and attempt to hit the same high notes as before, but instead changes the direction of his voice. So, while I would love to experience his older singing style and teenage persona, I have seen them twice in 2023 and they were absolutely out of this world! I know you likely will never see this but I just wanted to add to your original statement. ❤

To be able to see Citizen Erased live 😂 I would cry happy tears ! I am tremendously thankful to Muse and will always love their music. Seeing them during the Resistance tour was very special indeed. If I had known them earlier, I would have loved to see them before Resistance.
This song makes me feel like I'm transcending into another universe ✨️ ❤.

These guys are so talented at their instruments that they don't need fancy props, extra performers, lazers and visuals to put on a good concert.
....But when you combine them both, you get an fucking incredible show. Say what you want about Simulation Theory, but Algorithm(Deluxe version) live followed by Pressure is an incredible opener for a concert. The best opening Muse has had.
Anyways I just wanted to put that out there because I just got saw them live a few days ago. I'm not here to argue new Muse is better, Citizen Erased is still my favorite song by them and it is on my bucket list to experience this song live.

i love old muse's angry, dirty but at th esame time sweet sound. it's pure, it's free from all their nowadays needs to search new ways to be innovative and original. that's special, that's new, that's perfectly suitable with 90's and 00's spirit of rebellion and with the 10's researching of electronic, heavy and armonic music: the old muse. they had reached what they are searching now, with horrible results (survival, supremacy), fifteen years ago. the 'new' muse are self-referent, arrogant and lost in the shame of their new orchestral vomit. I wish so much of a return to the past, when they really innovated. then, from these exceptional bases, they should now find new sounds, new ideas and above all the real innovation.

It's true, I've figured out the initial spark was eager and tremendously powerful, it was impossible to stick around and not to focus on the pride and the dedication held by every track, each song owned a message which related to several themes, now I don't know how many topics they picked but they definitely gave a deep boost towards the new alternative scene and they took care of the fondest fans as the first albums chased that sweet and groundbreaking sound, it looks like a melodic and peaceful try to toss your mind and to write a new mix of genres based on the greatest artists in the '80s. They're gonna issue another album and they've just stated that it'll be a leap to the beginning, allegedly the electronic side will not be the main feature and the old formation will take place again. I suppose they're foreseeing a delightful work, they should have acknowledged the latter album didn't suit our needs and expectations, it got aloof from the typical sound and sometimes it strayed through the alleyways, as if they might have found any hitches or problems over the composition. It's reasonably tough to pull off an album, due to the fact they always strive to be noticed and well received but meanwhile they look for a new way to kick off all the times, right to make the new album sound different from what supplied previously.

+alessandro monti REAL bands feel a need to change eventually, if they would stick to their old sound just because it was what they sounded like in the beginning that would be fake and they'd only do it in a fear of losing fans. Muse doesn't care, they do what they want and if the old fans are gonna whine about it they will gain new ones anyway and at least do what they love. I think the orchestral influences on the music is epic af and even the electronical stuff too. If you don't like it, go listen to the old albums and have your opinions. They're not exactly gonna force themselves back to their old sound because some fans are gonna bitch about how much better it was. Nothing is better, they just mix different genres and some will like it and others won't. I'd be bored to hell too having to stick to the exact same sound for over 10 years just because I might lose fans otherwise, i'd just say fuck those people and have fun - and that is what Muse are doing. And they're musicians and normal people just like anyone else, they probably like different types of genres to listen to privately and so they collect inspiriation from what they listen to. There are people out there who doesn't just stick to one genre and consider it superior to everything else, you know..
