I have been following your analysis for some time now, I greatly aprreciate your evaluation of the military situation in Ukraine since it makes lot of sense in comparison with others available on youtube. Though I have to say that socio-political analysis are a completely different thing and that Europe and Russia in my modest opinion are very different in that respect. Russia seems to me (roughly speaking) a colonial power that holds a large sway of colonial possessions in Central and East Asia. The welfare state that we have in Western Europe is a blessing. The British National Healthcare System after which all European systems (I guess) are modeled was devised in UK after ww2 by Clement Attlee Labour Party, based upon a survey on poverty called 'the Beveridge report'. In Italy we have a system closely matching the British NHRS, and this lets say 'Italian NHRS' it's in place since the late 1970s. I guess all western European countries, like Italy, have similar healthcare systems closely matching the British one, I don't think Russians has ever had anything comparable possibly because of the high costs of their Army.
Renewable energy is complete failure? Perhaps some data or facts around this would make sense? See Norway for example, they are decent size of oil&gas producer, however most of their energy comes from renewable. In long run Russia keeps on staying in Stone Age. They don’t invest in new things rather keep on beating their rusty horses
Norway has a lot of hydropower even before they discovered oil. The transition at least for electric cars was heavily subsidized and that was only possible from the earnings from the oil industry.
@@warwick.schaffer There are more than 70 countries with more than 50% of their energy production made by renewables. Nuclear power is not counted in. Most of these countries are from Africa and Northern Europe. So it’s not all about oil money
Balkan does not want too powerful Turkey. Beside, building any pipeline takes 5 or more years and Qatar is happy selling LNG. Syria is likely to be unstable for years so Syrian pipeline might not happen for ages.
Thanks for update. I think it's probably time for you to update the map in Kursk, and to have an additional slide showing the situation around Kulyansk. :)
you have to have a welfare state to some degree. if you dont people cant support themselves that are unemployable due to not fault of there own. abolish welfare for normal citizens itll be utter chaos for most countries. a lot of people depend on it to live. rich countires can afford welfare if its managed sustainably. the gap between rich and poor will be to great. were trying to close the gap not completely widen it in favour of the greedy rich powers like bureucracies governments corporations elon musks of the world etc.
It's an age-old problem, you have to let competent ones (like Napoleon) rise, but they are booted out, discredited, ... There's nepotism, ... and the whole country is paying for it.
what are you on about green energy is doing great. maybe not about to completely overtake many areas but it will get there. main issue is storing energy, which is also greatly underway in heat storage tech. denmark my home, is almost entirely running on green, and my fellow danes are wasting and not being as positively frugal as they easily could be. like cars and consumer bs and so on. we need very little to thrive its just we got a lot of evil and weak people making the world unsafe and wary.
Thanks. Can you please to comment next time FT article concerning Qatar's threat to stop gas supply to EU due to new legislation that will penalise companies which fail to meet set criteria on carbon emissions, human and labour rights.
Toretsk has practically already fallen. If the Russians then turn north, they will press in Chasiv Yar from the south. Chasiv Yar will then no longer be able to be held by the Ukraine. Chasiv Yar is located on a hill and dominates Konstyantinivka. This makes it almost impossible for the Ukraine to hold Kosyantinivak - the southern cornerstone of the Konsyantinivka-Druzhivka-Kramatorsk-Slovyansk defensive chain.

I think that pipeline from Katar never will be built
Wonderful, let's replace dependency from Russia for dependency from Qatar (what could go wrong...)
EU has more in common with a totalitarian dictatorship than with Russia.
