    It's kiev, not Kyiv.
    I wish people would quit harassing the Wikipedia page about it.

      If you speak Russian, you would be correct. But it’s Ukrainian, not Russian, hence why people like you need to adapt to what Ukrainians want it to be called.

      @@talkingmotanka No it's how Kyiv got adopted in English. It's Kiev because it makes more sense in English. It's Kiew in German too. By the way, why don't you say Dutchland in English? We are not the old Germans! ;)

      @@GrandTheftChris In Spanish, Portuguese and French it is “Kiev,” not “Kyiv.” The same with Belarus, in Spanish (Bielorrusia), Portuguese (Bielorrúsia) and French (Biélorussie) is the transliterated version of “Byelorussia,” the Soviet name of the nation.

      @@Rolando_CuevaJust giving an example where the englist and german spelling harmonize doesn't take out the fact that the name of the country is named differently in english compared to german. :)
      Besides, I doubt many english speakers pronounce Berlin like a berliner would. :)
      My point is that it's silly to force or shame people into changing the way they write or pronounce a name. At least it should be in most cases.

    Kiev or Kiof was used 300-600 years ago on the European maps. It is not related to freaking communists.

    it would be fairer if the mention of city names in the international world was adjusted to the original language instead of according to the English exonym, for example
