Just a note, to thank you and Helen for the insight and great coverage of the NUFC tournament. I am 75 yrs of age and stuck at home and you will never know how much you and your channel has meant to many like me. I can’t thank you enough for what you both do. Bless you both. ❤️❤️
It is really great to have your take Eddy - quality stuff. You fill this 'new media space' very effectively and I say that as a journalist of 33 years standing.
Love your reports Eddie. I’ve listened to your reports which are great, and to some others which I’ve ditched pretty quickly, mainly because of their insistence on using the F word, which you do not. Keep up the good work!
Eddy and Helen. Thank you for your fabulous series of US videos. Informative, in terms of the matches, the build-up, the training, and the cultures of the two nations. Top, top work!!
Agree with most of your observations Eddy! I will say on the rivalry part if you were at say american football or hockey you would have more instensity. I think part of the issues at all our games was lots of neutrals just there to see a live game of EPL caliber.
You hit the nail on the head as usual. The hospitality is light years ahead of what happens in the uk. In general we've met some great people on our travels in America, mind when I was sailing the great lakes the seedier side sometimes showed up but as soon as they heard my accent the animous disappeared. I've been in bars white americans would never think of going in and been fine. As for the sporting scene you are spot on, there is rivalry but that is usually friendly, its not football either you see a different attitude, the big american sports all have so many breaks, time outs for just about everything including TV, they are used to it and have spells chatting then when play resumes chanting. I do find it funny that the loudest fans in america seem to be at golf where they get bloody loud and quite obnoxious. I've rambled enough, what an epic series of vids, look forward to your return yem.
What a fantastic set of videos allowing us at home to experience the USA tour. Really informative and hopefully you will be able to get into Europe and do the same for our Champions League adventures.

Another top video, I enjoyed every one of your videos in the USA, I love your views and sense of humour and you also know how to keep people interested with the content, places of interest and also for the interviews of so many interesting people over there who love the Toon. Finally, I think the best thing about these vids is that they transport so many other people to the places that you go to and we all feel we have been their too, and we have enjoyed the excitement and thrills with you. You really are very good at this, maybe it is because you don't consider that this is all about you, and in fact it's more about your passion which is Newcastle United.
Nice one Eddie mate. Loved the coverage of the summer series. Geordie born and bred, and watching you and Helen have a great time has made me wanna do this myself, maybe some time in the future. You're right Eddy, but these games were showpieces, if you ever go to Portland Vs Seattle game you would see one of the most intense rivalries in football, same with the two New York teams, its coming Eddy but will take time. Great series of vlogs, thankyou to Helen, hope that you come again but next time to Minneapolis and Portland, both within a couple days drive for me!

Great videos , a snapshot of what the cities are like that you visited. Mostly the better side ,I’m sure the less appealing side not worth filming. You must have spent a fair few hours in airports in the early hours, pleased to get home for a rest. Cheers ,enjoy a decent pint in your local when you get home.
Hi Eddy & Helen 👋 A fitting way to end this series 👏The observations show in a good way ! A few differences between 🇺🇸 and 🇬🇧..... and that's absolutely okay ! 👍

Hi Eddy, so great to meet you & Helen in Peter Dillons. The US service industry is reliant on tipping, waitstaff are paid pretty low in the expectation that they will make up income by providing stellar service. It is extremely rare to find waitstaff that are bad.
Great to meet you too! Helen and I had a fabulous time over there. We found generally that the US people were friendlier, better mannered and more polite. Even if Brits were tipped better I don’t think they could come across as just as nice 😃
I’d say the one rivalry you’d see a similar intensity would be between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. Great observations though - truly dead on. It was a pleasure to meet you Eddie in Philadelphia - safe travels home !
Actually the service levels have improved in the UK a lot ever since I left in 91. I was there for 2 weeks from the 4th of July and noticed in the pubs and restaurants a huge change in the level of service I noticed. Plus they were not doing it for a tip either.

There are massive rivalries in American sports. The reason you didn’t feel any of that was because it’s two teams from England on a neutral site. Actually college American football is the best comparison to British football.
It's hard to make a fair comparison between UK vs. US fans because the lack of popularity of professional football/soccer on the mainstream level (although it is growing). A more accurate picture of sporting culture would be to compare Premier League fans in the UK vs. college football/NFL fans in the US. For many reasons, even college football and NFL have huge cultural differences. Although many diehards did attend these matches, I would argue that a majority of the attendees weren't big football/soccer fans. They mostly went out of curiosity and for the experience, or because a friend/family wanted to go- the same goes when the NFL is in London.
If i was earning $2.70p/h you can bet your life that i will be all😂 smiles and as false as i need to be to get a tip, i find the whole place to be false and cringy, the people who dont want anything from you are great though, if you look at the brooklyn bridge carefully you will see how it is crumbling and needs serious investment, also you obviously met the nice homeless guy, i guess he wasn't shitting or pissing or shooting up drugs right in the middle of the street. I was born in brooklyn and lived there till i was 45, my company offered me a job in Newcastle-upon-Tyne 2 years ago and i will never go back to the USA again, i realised, though shocked at first, what it is like when people are genuine and actually say what they think, what it is like to really know someone, not just the image they portray. Thank you for showing my hometown in a good light, but you only saw the America they wanted you to.see, good luck with your channel and have a safe journey home
@@TynesideLife yeah sure,, my whole point was that, you never know what is genuine, maybe she was a lovely lady and I hope she is, and as long as you had a good experience then great, but you never ever know what is real. That is my experience from moving to the UK you know straight away if someone is having a bad day, you know that they aren't only after money
@@andymac900 Andy, the video is meant to be comical, light hearted, overly general and based on a tiny snapshot of my visit. This is explained at the beginning…
You might not be aware Eddie, that guy with the NUFC tattoo is not the most desirable fella to put it mildly, pictures of him online participating in nationalist marches.
Brilliant video. I've watched an American responding to various things on you tube, one being English football chants and he was astounded 😂😂😂 He did the Adam Johnson one and a few other ones that if you didn't know wouldn't have a clue what it was all about, insult or joke, based on real events or not. Absolutely hilarious. But yeah the mingling and cheesiness wouldn't work here at all and who T F wants to run the battery on their phone down like that too. CRINGE.😂😂 Howay home lad
Beg to differ Eddie about the concourse bit Eddie Hot caught short in the spurs game went to the toilet. There must have been a hundred people eating and drinking watching the game on the screen
Most of the people attending the matches you attended during your stay aren't "real" fans of those teams. They are there just to see them as a curiosity and to enjoy the day out. However attend a game of their local clubs and you'll see more of what you have back home.. people intensely invested in their teams and the outcomes. I'll also add that in "general" the attention of many Americans fans is divided among multiple teams/sports... both pro and college year round. Most may not be as singularly focused on a team as perhaps Newcastle fans.
Interesting subject mate, firstly I think something that the Americans have that we lack is patriotism if even a homeless person can be proud of their country without moaning then that says a lot. But moaning is part of what makes us english haha. I think the Americans also follow way more sports than we do. I watch another RUclipsr who is American and he is constantly saying he has been to a basketball, baseball American football event with his family and that something else that makes us different a lot of football fans over here just want to get mortal haha. Anyway glad you have had a great time over there it will take you ages to come back down to earth after this trip. One thing that will help is its never stopped @@@@ing down over here haha.
Glad you and Helen had such a great time! There are certainly big intense rivalries in the US but not as many as in the UK and a big part of that is the away fan culture. The country is so big that fans don’t regularly travel to away games. Even in games that are closer, you don’t have an away section so you’re potentially going into the lion’s den on your own. Having an away section where not only are the players competing but the fans as well, creates that intense atmosphere. Save travels home to the dogs!!
Hi Eddie. Just wanted to see if you’d do a video on the utter scandal with Castore home shirts. You cannot get a decent size one for love nor money. I’ve tried since day one to get a 3xl but the entire city is sold out of them. Its pathetic. Castore is out of their league and I hope that by showing this you may aid Newcastle in binning them off and bringing in someone who has a clue. Cheers mate.
@@TynesideLife and they are missing out on sales big time - I keep getting offered snide counterfeits. I think I know more guys with snides than real ones. People are desperate to give the club money to help with ffp but Castores incompetence is preventing them from so doing. They want sacked.
Wait, what? You wouldn't go on a date to a football game in England? LOL And yes, I've been known to watch a match from the concourse while getting drinks and food. Come back to the US and let us take you to a Raiders game at Allegiant Stadium. It's better than the Mercedes Benz and it won't matter if you don't understand the rules of American Football because the spectacle is everything else hahahah

Chuckled throughout, nice one Eddy! Get yersells home now and have a well earned rest.
Cheers Ian. We need it! 😅
You might not be aware Eddie, that guy with the NUFC tattoo is not the most desirable fella to put it mildly, pictures of him online participating in nationalist marches.
I didn’t know that but thanks for sharing. 👍🏻
😂👊🏻
Eddie I know what you mean about the dogs, good 👍 on you great video 😊😊😊
🙏👊🏻
You didn't mention the various costs of things in the US Eddie. Beers, food, subway tickets etc.
Really expensive 😃
Beg to differ Eddie about the concourse bit Eddie
Hot caught short in the spurs game went to the toilet.
There must have been a hundred people eating and drinking watching the game on the screen
Safe journey hyem ed and Helen,
👍🏻🙏
You will have to get the dogs oot for a nice long waalk on Hiking Britain ^^
Can’t wait!
Cheers bud. They were just light hearted (comical) observations 👍🏻
Happy days 🖤🤍
The atmosphere in American is the same as it is in Australia no real passion it’s a shame really
I’m sure there will be between particular cities and sports 👍🏻
Your right
A Geordie in 🇺🇸 great video
😃
Great comment Martin ☝️
Looks like they did a decent job rebuilding Grand Central after the Avengers wrecked it 😂
Good one as always man.
I think King Kong had a go too 😅
They call it Soccer and play on artificial pitches what else needs to be said
🙄
Haha shushhhhhhhhh!! 🤫 the footies on 😂😂😂
😂
Glad you and Helen had such a great time!
There are certainly big intense rivalries in the US but not as many as in the UK and a big part of that is the away fan culture. The country is so big that fans don’t regularly travel to away games. Even in games that are closer, you don’t have an away section so you’re potentially going into the lion’s den on your own. Having an away section where not only are the players competing but the fans as well, creates that intense atmosphere.
Save travels home to the dogs!!
Great point! 👍🏻
Glad You're Getting Out And About Eddie Hope Son
Cheers Ian. On the flight home now
Good Lad Son...
You’ve done rusty dirty here mind 🤣
He loves it 😃

'Like little awld men" 😂

👍🏻
@@TynesideLife and there are none to be had online either!
@@micklaffey8255 plus the double T scandal
@@TynesideLife and the fact you cant even order it online with Champs League badges. They are totally out of their league and incompetent.
@@TynesideLife and they are missing out on sales big time - I keep getting offered snide counterfeits. I think I know more guys with snides than real ones. People are desperate to give the club money to help with ffp but Castores incompetence is preventing them from so doing. They want sacked.
“We believe we’re going to lose, we believe we’re going to lose” is something they would probably sing if watching a Steve Bruce managed Newcastle 🤣
😂
You’re on Allison! 😃🙌 Helen snd I would love to keep in touch
