Nice presentation. I met Marco Tamayo in Sweden in 2014/2015 and I immediately recognized a great Master of the Guitar! Definitely a potential GOAT! And a real nice guy too! Marco Topchii and Julia are new to me but they both sound great in your short presentation!
Marco Tamayo for sure. Saw him play in Belgium last year. My teacher studied with Marco and it shows, he just has a way of deconstructing complicated technique making it accessible. A fantastic guitarist - DEF one of the best of the best and a dream professor to any aspiring classical guitarist.
I remember Marko Topchii from the early days on YT (let's say 2007-2010) and I really like how he just is everywhere (every competition, every new vid every couple months) and it is really inspiring to see him getting the recognition he deserves. He's just and amazing guitarist and an example to show all of us that consistency will take you far away. I don't understand why Marco Tamayo should be an "underrated" guitarist. He's from the school of great musicians that Cuba and latinamerica has (alongside with Pierri, Eduardo Fernandez, Joaquin Clerch, Roberto Aussell among others). Maybe he's not as recognized as let's say John Williams (he is also from a younger generation but still not that recent).... idk man, he's been always a reference for people studying in europe (germany, austria) and his name is very well known for his reputation over here.... Great video, Cody, thanks for sharing! Underrated guitarists (what imo should have been): Matt Palmer (and his Rodrigos' Italica Famosa) or extremely great guitarrists like Eduado Isaac or Victor Villadangos (Argentina). They're such great guitarists but you dont see much from them, also beacause their works and network are mostly focused on live concerts instead of doing the networking and the use of social networks that is nowadays "inevitable" if you want to get somewhere....
Happen to be watching a Marco Tamayo video and yours popped up! Agree, very powerful player. Topchii is pretty amazing too, I tried to watch a full concert of his but couldn't make it to the end as it was too much of "pedal to the metal" all of the time. I'm an old fogey and like some beauty mixed in with the flash stuff to keep the interest going over the span of a concert. I'm rather fond of many Italian guitarists due to their high musicality, some can mix it with the young lions of today like CHRISTIAN SAGGESE - CAPRICCIO n.36 by LUIGI LEGNANI. Have fun!
Julia’s using three fingers on the right hand for the scales. So, there’s that. For all his talent, Marko Topchii didn’t win the 2019 competition (just saying there might be hope for the rest of us).
would you do a reaction to Kazuhito Yamashita? i think his interpretation of pictures at an exhibition is the best performance on a guitar i have ever seen.
@@guitarcody9 he is amazing and always my inspiration for playing guitar. his technic musicality, interpretation all of them is amazing, seriously he is a gift🙂🌱

Very cool. I hope I can see him play live some day. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
