Is gold still better than porcelain/zirconia? Which requires the least preparation? Does gold support the tooth structure?

Gold has indeed stood the test of time and remains the standard by which all materials are compared. Although it can't be truly bonded to the tooth, preparation designs may be used to augment resistance form with gold which both supports tooth structure and preserve it as well.

Can we give skirt or collar along with slot? If we can than in what condition?

I am missing numbers 29, 30 & 31 molars, 32 will is slightly tilted. I am having three dental implants, can a gold onlay help straighten # 32 by shaving two or more cusp instead of placing a whole crown over # 32?

Should we place shoulder margin on the functional cusp (like in shillingberg)? Thx!nice video

Not with the Tucker technique - the hollow grind provides adequate bulk for this area. Shillingburg even discusses this hollow grind as an option in his text. Thank you Doc!

Then there will be only a very thin layer of gold at the bevelled plane?

Thin at the margin like a shoulder bevel but thick as we move inward, 1.5 mm where the forces are the greatest

Too few I'm afraid, and very few know even how to do it!...check out the Academy of Richard V Tucker Study Clubs, www.arvtsc.org - patients often travel great distances to have it done well -it may be esthetically performed and may last a lifetime. I mentor a cast gold study club in Los Angeles with 12 members and a wait list for joining...Thank you for the question nonetheless.
