      No he is exactly the same ...he could get out of Stalingrad but all the Starvation, Cold and horrible fighting let him age very quickly. After he got out of Stalingrad he was put in the Panzerdivision Hermann Göring and fought at Monte Cassino. You wont believe but also there he survived and got away, but this was the final so he aged again and looked like his own Grandfather. From then on he was put to France and ended up in the fight in Normandy :-))) Thats the exact explanation.

    In Russia, this film failed at the box office. It entered the top of the worst films about the Battle of Stalingrad and also topped the rating of low-grade films about the Second World War. Living in Russia, such a verdict on the film is clear without explanation. Previously, military consultants were front-line soldiers who went through the war, and now everyone is free to bring in script your vision of those events.

    • @stingernord
      @stingernord 3 года назад +21

      The film turned out to be commercially successful, became the highest-grossing Russian film in recent history and set a record for collections in the opening weekend (which, in turn, was beaten by the film "Viy" in early 2014). Among the 74 films shot in Russia in 2013, the film "Stalingrad" had the highest box office receipts - 51.7 million dollars. However, the opinions of both critics and ordinary viewers about the film were divided - it received both positive and negative ratings. "Stalingrad" was nominated by Russia for the Academy Award in the category "Best Foreign Language Film"], but was not among the nominees.

      @manjelos 2 года назад +3

      Well, in real life such tank driving can be seen only by Russian, currently in Ukraine. Of course as tank driver obstacles should be avoided. Yes, a tank can go trough a house but also rumble full of stones should be avoid since can damage tracks and this can go fatal in the fight. Also drivers did "ride" on the small wall what easy can lead that the track can't touch the ground and move tank so can just stay in place as a target.

    I feel that in Russia they teach history far more differently then the rest of the world about World War 2. Which if theres any Russian here then I'm just curious but is that the case? In California we talk about the countrys who fought in the war saying there roles and describing the type of leader of each country. Here we were taught that Stalin and Hitler think very similar which is why Hitler hated Stalin seeing if as competition. But I've heard rumors that in Russia they describe Stalin as this savoir and barely talks about the work camps or KGB including the harsh penalties and oppression at the occupied countrys. I've spoked with a forgien student before who is actually from Russia and she looked at me with confusion when I asked how do they explain the Berlin Airlift in her country.

    There was no waffen ss in stalingrad. It was a point the SS used further down the line to gain more favor. The SS at this point was always winning in pitched battles, so they could point a finger at the werhmacht in regards to stalingrad, that is until a little city called Budapest (the Waffen SS stalingrad)
    The tanker clearly had a deathshead, though im sure there are examples of prussians wearing deathheads in the werhmacht.

      Bennie G the small SS police unit you refer to was pulled out before encirclement and didn't enter into urban fighting

      Steve Eyles yes, it is a panzers uniform, AN SS PANZER UNIFORM, see those little skulls on his hate and lapels? That's called a totenkopf, the SS deaths head, though it wasn't invented by them and there are examples of Prussian werhamct wearing it, it was a standard issue and symbol of the SS
      Learn history before you correct someone, there were elements of the 4th panzers trapped in the kessel, but they mostly held a southern position in the outskirts of the urban fighting. The also didn't have these fake ass looking tiger tanks either. Would've been panzers 4s and some 3s most likely some random shit thrown in.
