Thank you isaac for making this video. I just bought the Saljan and Adil after your video and it is getting delivered 2 days from now. I'll let you know how I like it! Im really excited.
Hello just wanted some info because I also got the Saljan and Adils, but I don't know what diameter of drill bit should i use, what diameter did you use to drill in it? Thank you.
If you have the LAGKAPTEN or LINNMON there are two ways of overcoming how light it is (and therefore wobbly): you can screw it to the Alex drawers - the new Alex drawers include screws for firmly attaching a Lagkapten desk. And 2) once you have heavy items like you monitors and PC and maybe an add-on unit or monitor riser, it will effectively weigh it down and be like a heavier desk.
ok i came across your vid cuz im into setup vids. but when i heard youre intro it sounded like "hi guys welcome to isuck videos" sorry lol i like ur setup and keep up the good work bro
Amazing video bro!! Im happy that u made this video :) tho im curious do u think the Linmond Ikea desk is worth getting? And if so what size do u recommend... Plz and thank you
Hi there awesome video really appreciate the effort put into this video do you know if i can use the black legs with the white Alex drawers or would white be better
@@IsaacSetupConceptsI ended up with the SALJAN. I ordered it the other day, I just loved the black / silver granite look and that it was easy to clean. I ordered with 2 Alex drawers and 2 legs to hold it. I also ordered a table stiffner for under it. I went with the big boy, 98”
Hi, honestly feels more like a desk! I guess is because I'm use to see granite countertops as that countertops for kitchens. But overall is a great piece of particlebord well put together and very sturdy. I have 3 years or so using this countertop as my main desk and is like new to be honest, is still holding my 2 27" monitor + 2 studio Monitors.
May I ask where your lan cable is router. There is no lan cable plugged into the lan socket in your wall under the desk. Do you play using wifi? I always ask myself this question because I always have mutliple cables running into the lan socket but other setups on youtube don't use it.
Hey! hell no! I never played in a wifi network! hehehe! my pc is actually plugged directly through ethernet cable to my modem/wifi, I just hide the cable very well! xD!
well, I have too many things on it right now, which makes the desk even heavier. You can screw it to the Alex drawers, that's totally fine, I don't do it because I'm constantly moving the desk to clean up a little bit or just to make a new arrangement in the studio.
No! they sell you the entire piece. You have to cut it yourself. I know because I just build an Ikea kitchen with this countertop and I had to cut it myself even when Ikea made the actual plan of the kitchen.
Hey dude, what about bending issues for ikea saljan ? I bought 2 alex for each side and put it 1 adils in the middle, is that enough for keeping stable and not to bend ? Thanks
Hey! yes that is actually my goal. I want to set another drawer to my left side. Yes, keep the support in the middle, that way you make sure the table isn't bent.
@@Budakafa Hi, hope you can answer my question. If you use those Alex drawers you are limited to put the Saljan at 27 inches from the floor because that is the drawers height. I'm 5,5 and my gaming chair has to be on the lowest height for me to reach the floor.. but that means my table has to be at 23 inches from the floor! Are you taller than me? If not, how do you feel using the table at that height? (apologies for my English)
I owned a similar Ikea product before. Then one day several years after, it fell apart. Horrors. What I thought was a solid wood slab that would last indefinitely turned out to be a collection of wood strips factory glued and held together. It was much like watching parts of your shoes separating because the glue can no longer hold.
@@_hazardd3746 Karlby is nicer and more solid but saljan can hold its own and is 69 dollars vs 180 on the karlby if moneys not an issue go with the darker karlby in my opinion. I'm cheap so I bought the saljan like 5 minutes ago lol.
@@feddan9401 its holding up just fine have 2 pc mounts on it a 27 inch and an ultrawide plus the pc and all my other junk no warping scuffs heck not a scratch on the thing I personally love it.
Yes you can screw it to the saljan! ... I didn't do that because I think the saljan is heavy enough and with all the stuff on top is not gonna move anyway.

I'll probably be doing that setup with the wall brackets for a floating look.

Thank you, going to buy the Saljan!
Hey, i have a question, what table legs are you using on the countertop. Are those the ADILS?
Yes! correct! The ADILS! 😀
Are you still using the SÄLJAN? I’ve been thinking about buying it vs a wood butcher block
Yes and its holding up very well. Do the butcher block, its just better.

Whats the difference between the Ikea Karlby, Saljan, Lillitrask and can they all handle monitor clamp mounts?
hey, does the Saljan countertop feel like an actual kitchen countertop or is it ok for a desk meant to hold a PC as well as to be a study area?

Do u must have this extra leg ? Or is it only in your opinion ?
For the saljan! Yes I 100% recomend to put a support in the middle!
Can you sand the Saljan and add stain/colour to it?
Even though it is veneer and not solid wood
Hey! mmm I don't think so! the saljan is plastic laminated!
@@IsaacSetupConcepts can you take off the laminate using sand paper
With the saljan i can put 2 legs instead of the alex storage? Nice video
Late but you need atleast 4 two in both sides but if I were you I would use 5 and have 1 in the back in the middle
For Salijaan, can I use one tressle on the side and 2 Adils on the other side and 1 adil in the middle? Moore power to you

4 Adils leg is strong enough to hold the 60pounds weight?
I want to get a smaller saljan and 3 legs and Alex drawer like yours but in white, but do you use the bigger one or the smaller one?
I have the smaller one I think! the size is Length: 74", Depth: 25 5/8", Thickness: 1 1/2".
will the saljan easier to sag? which one is more sag proof?
hey! the gerton is more sag proof, is solid beechwood!
do you think 5 adil legs will be sturdy enough for the beech top table instead of the drawer ?
2 on each side and one in the middle back is good for the 78 inch one
is good but can be very wobbly!
Hiii, do you think 5 adil legs will be sturdy enough for the Saljan top instead of the drawer?
Hey! honestly if you put only 5 legs! the table can be very wobbly! 😅
How did you make the saljan not wobble? Im using 5 olov legs from ikea and its real wobbly.
I used an Ikea Alex Drawers and I put the desk over it! that makes it not wobble that much.
what legs where u using for the saljan
hey! ... I'm using the IKEA ADILS!

how do you attach the saljan to alex drawers? or do you just place it on there?
hey! I just place the saljan on the drawers!
this is more durable than the linnmon and can use a dual monitor mount right?
Yes, right!
what mm drill bit did you use for the adils?
3mm😀
Is it still of high quality even after two years?
Yes, is like new! no bending, no scratches. Still strong and sturdy.
If you get 90in can you get it cut at ikea?
No! they sell you the entire piece. You have to cut it yourself. I know because I just build an Ikea kitchen with this countertop and I had to cut it myself even when Ikea made the actual plan of the kitchen.
How much does it take to hold up the saljan like can I put 2 adils on each side and an olov in the middle
yes! you can do that, but its gonna be a little wobbly!
Can you stain the new one? With the proper process
No! Actually the saljan is plastic laminated, so is not going to take the stain like a real wood.
Bro, if i want to use all adils legs (without drawer) with the saljan top, is it gonna be wobbly?
Hey! Yes its gonna be wobbly!
