Did this job on my 97 a month ago. I pulled off the heater hoses and flushed out the heater core separately in both directions to get it as clean as I could too. I did the thermostat and water pump at the same time because I thought it was part of the reason for my coolant bubbling in the overflow tank. Turns out that my problem was the radiator cap all along. The coolant still needed to be flushed either way. It was red and gunky. Now it’s nice and green. Keep in mind the electric fan is designed to stay off until 225 and then only runs until 213. So 210 to 220 on the gauge isn’t bad, but 230 is too hot. Good video man.
I had a bad radiator cap last year, turned out the sheet metal tabs that engage the radiator neck were not bent over properly so the cap was too loose. I have seen many other people have that problem, seems there are a bunch of bad caps out there. Thanks for watching!!
@@ludercoarmsI went with a mopar cap from rockauto just to eliminate the aftermarket caps being a continuing problem. Went mopar for the thermostat too.
About to do this to my 97 asap. I have the same issues, in the southeast, and on long drives it will get up the the next tick mark past 210 just like you said. It had very brown coolant when i first got this jeep, and I have used two other flushes within the last year. Something tells me they didnt do anything like what this stuff is gonna do. Will update after I've done mine.
